Transformative Journey: From Atheism to Devotion Under Guru Maharaj’s Grace

It gives me great pleasure to write about my personal experience with my beloved Guru Maharaj. Although I am no one to write about this Supreme Being, I want to express my feelings because wherever my life stands today is solely because of Guru Maharaj, and wherever it will go in the future will also be because of him.

My journey began in 1999 when I moved to the UAE and landed a job in Abu Dhabi. Although I wasn’t eager to go to Abu Dhabi, I took the offer as a fresh graduate with limited options. At that time, I was a complete atheist. My sister in Dubai would often mention attending Guru Maharaj’s satsang once a week, but I had never seen Guru Maharaj’s photo and knew very little about him. I had no intention of becoming religious or attending satsang.

Two years later, I was desperately looking for a new job in Dubai. Despite applying everywhere and trying for almost six months, I couldn’t find a suitable job. It was hard to believe that after so much effort, I wasn’t even called for an interview. I was in a miserable condition and had given up on life.

During this period of loneliness and depression, I started inclining towards Guru Maharaj. Gradually, my interest in hearing Guru Maharaj’s satsang grew, likely sparked by Guru Maharaj’s wish. I started getting satsang cassettes from Dubai and would listen to Guru Maharaj every morning and read the Guru Chalisa before heading to work.

Eventually, I felt the urge to attend at least one satsang. Being in Abu Dhabi, I rarely had the opportunity, but once, during a public holiday, I was in Dubai and attended satsang. After that, I began praying to Guru Maharaj for more opportunities to attend satsang.

And Guru Maharaj heard me!!

I had the chance to meet Gobind uncle in Dubai, and that day changed my life. A few months later, I got a job in Sharjah, just as Gobind uncle had said. Astonishingly, the job was exactly what I wanted. It felt tailor-made for me, fitting my requirements perfectly. I obtained my driving license from Abu Dhabi in record time with minimal expense. Within a few months, my life had dramatically improved.

These experiences were too good to be true, and that’s how I realized Guru Maharaj’s miracles. There have been numerous instances where Guru Maharaj has helped me out of very complicated situations. At the time, I didn’t realize it, but reflecting on how I overcame those challenges, I know it was because of Guru Maharaj!!

Without his presence, I would have been nowhere—absolutely nowhere. I feel my sole purpose of coming to the Gulf was to meet Guru Maharaj. No matter where you are in the world, Guru Maharaj will call you one fine day.
