Message To Humanity – Discourse 2

Introduction
All the materials of materialism are like chutney. They taste delicious but later cause burning in the stomach, remember this. Similarly, the collection of materialism looks good but after collection, it creates various types of mental stress, various kinds of worries, fear of rule, fear of theft, and various types of fears. And this true philosopher’s stone is the name of that Lord, it is the philosopher’s stone of the name of the Lord, this body, which is full of excrement and impurities, if you dig it from start to finish, nothing but excrement will come out.
If this heavy impure body is washed with the philosopher’s stone in the form of the name, and if every pore of the body keeps taking the name of the Lord, it will become solid gold. The coins of the world will not work there. Coins change even within countries. The dollar works in America, but not in Europe. When even the coins of materialism change here, dear ones! The currency of that country is completely different. The notes here, the pearls here, the diamonds here, the wealth here, the property here, the buildings here, cannot go there.
I keep saying this repeatedly. Again, I say that two questions will definitely be asked of us there: O human! In 8.4 million species, you have suffered various kinds of sorrows, we had mercy on you and sent you as a human body. We gave you two rights. We made you dependent on enjoying pleasures, you will have to enjoy them and for performing actions, we made you independent, which is different from all other life forms. Other life forms cannot perform actions. We sent you for a special purpose into materialism or on earth. What you did is fine, but what did you bring for us? We kept you there for so many days and made all arrangements for you. When you were in the womb, we protected you. When your limbs started forming in the womb, we protected you and made a special tube for your nourishment, and gave you protection inside the womb for 9 months. If we say that what protection does the Lord have in the womb, the womb keeps growing, but it is not like that. The living being resides in a thin membrane. The large walls of the womb become warm, but the Lord does not let that warmth affect the delicate living being inside, even though the mother eats hot food and drinks hot tea, she does not let the child feel hot. Now see how airtight and waterproof that membrane would have been, and no matter how sour or spicy the mother eats, the child does not get affected. If we apply chili to our body, it will start itching and burning. But that delicate body is protected from that chili as well.
In our Rajasthan, mothers eat chilies by the gram. The Lord does not let the sharpness affect the living being inside that membrane and provides free water, air, and light outside. I always say that we receive electricity bills here. The government does not think that it’s an ashram and should not send the bill. But it sends it. The sun and moon give us light, but the Lord does not send a bill. Look at the scenery of nature, there is no ticket for it. The Lord has given everything free to humans. If the Lord does not provide rain, these taps, these wells, the rivers are filled, the ponds are full. The Supreme Being has provided everything free for the protection of the living being. It has the right to ask. The Lord has given us everything, including allowances and the most important human body. My dear ones! We will not be able to answer. If I say that I have built an ashram, it will ask, “Well! Where is it?” That will not remain, what have you brought for me? Well, I bought big cars. It will say that this is a good thing, you have gained respect in society, your name is known in society; you have given comfort to your children. Have you brought any toy car for me? You will not be able to make it. Well, I have raised children. Then it will say, ask the old man, this is his department. What have you brought for me? We cannot say that we have brought this for you, Lord, from materialism. What have you done there for me? Well, you have been given allowances. A master gives travel expenses to his servant and sends him for a task, and then the master asks what he did there. If, after sending a couple of times, he does not give any answer, the boss either suspends that servant or dismisses him from the job saying that you are of no use to us. If, after providing so much protection, it asks us what we have done for it, it is not wrong. We will not be able to answer what we have done for it. Whatever work we are doing, we are doing it for ourselves, for our family, or for our disciples, what has the Supreme Being got to do with it? So, what have we done for it? It will definitely ask this question. It is certain that living beings will be asked these questions. I am not the only one who says this,
In the Ramayana, Tulsidas Ji also says that the soul will certainly be tested, and it will definitely be asked.
Whether anyone says it or not, Chitragupta is always recording everything. Whether you speak or not, the file will be opened there. It’s like the electricity meter. The meter will tell you how much electricity has been consumed. You may say a thousand times that you haven’t used electricity, but the meter will tell the truth. No matter how much you try to hide it, the meter will tell. The name of the mind itself is Chitragupta, there is no other deity besides it. It’s our mistake to think that Chitragupta is another deity. The name of the mind itself is Chitragupta. The mind conceives the thought and records it.
God has placed a meter-like recording mechanism in our bodies that never leaves us, no matter where we are or what we are doing. Whether we work secretly, on a mountain, or in a classroom, wherever we do good or bad deeds, the mind immediately records it. The aspects of the mind are spread throughout the body. The brain works through the mind, and when there is brain hemorrhage, the whole body becomes useless. He has made such a rule that you cannot hide any deed – you cannot hide your actions from Chitragupta. Chitragupta is not somewhere in the sky, underworld, or heaven. That Chitragupta is sitting in your mind, constantly pulling the reel, making a cassette of every moment, every action we do. When the reel of good and bad deeds opens in front of Yamraj, we will not be able to deny it.
Then we will have only one word to say, “Oh Lord, we didn’t get time, otherwise, we would have worshipped you a lot.” But this statement will not be accepted there; they will consider it a lie. “You had time to eat, time for laughter and fun, time for children, time for picnics, and many other activities, time to drink alcohol, time for swearing; what, you didn’t find any time for my name?”
One endures the consequences of past actions, but you are free to perform future actions. How can you place blame? Someone might say, “God didn’t allow us to worship,” just like many say today, “I was ready to come, but Guru Ji, you didn’t call me.” This is the Guru’s mistake, the Guru should keep an aircraft so that whenever a devotee remembers, it can be sent to them. But this is our foolishness, our false excuse, our false deception. “Oh, I was coming, but you didn’t let me.” This is the word of our foolishness. This is not the word of truth. The truth is that when a human makes a resolution in his mind, he reaches there. This is certain. When a human makes a resolution to work, he works. When he makes a resolution to sleep, he sleeps. When he makes a resolution to eat, he eats. When he makes a resolution to wear something, he wears it. I make a resolution that I will not wear white, but yellow clothes, and I wear yellow clothes. Then I make a resolution that not yellow, I will wear orange, and I wear orange. And when it comes to my mind to wear saffron, I throw away the orange clothes and wear saffron. So whatever comes to the mind, a human can certainly do it, he can make up his mind for years, generate a desire for years.
Focus on it. Both attention and desire are such powerful things that they take you to that place, no matter how many obstacles come, no matter how many adverse circumstances come. If you have to go, you have to go. Whether it is the goddess, Durga, or the guru stopping you a thousand times, but if you become so stubborn that you have to go, then you have to go.
A stubborn child gets whatever he wants from his mother. When the child becomes stubborn and says, “Mom, I won’t drink milk. I will drink Campa (a drink), bring it from somewhere.” The mother brings Campa at night. Then he says, “I don’t drink Campa, I will eat ice cream.” The mother brings ice cream too. The stubborn child gets everything he wants from his mother with love and stubbornness. Sole stubbornness is bad. There should be both love and stubbornness. The stubborn child cries and also serves the mother and gets what he wants. Similarly, we should become stubborn children. Become stubborn for the Lord with love. “Lord, we have to take your path, no matter how much pain you give us. You can make us beggars if you want, do whatever you want, make us sick, we have caught your path, we have to reach your destination.” Love Him and keep moving, keep remembering the destination. My lovers – just like Harisharan, don’t stop.
For a few days, they will certainly kkķjĵ name of the sin of the previous birth is trouble, this is the obstacle, this prevents us from walking on the religious path, stops us from going to good places, stops us from going to the Lord’s door. Because these are sins. Disbelief, distrust, sleep, fear, etc., all are forms of sins. These sins of the previous birth do not let us go towards good deeds. But then If you persist, then sins will have to find their way out today, if not today then tomorrow, and if not tomorrow then the day after. They will automatically be defeated, they will lose. But they will lose when we become stubborn. So today, the message of human life that we have brought to you is that we should lovingly become stubborn for the surrender to that Supreme Being. If He asks, we should say that we have done this. We have remembered Your name, we have sacrificed everything for Your name, we have done everything for Your name. If He asks what we have brought, we will say that we have brought these deeds
Maanav Paramaatma Ka Ansh Hai. Hum Isko Maanav Kyon Maane?
A human is a part of the Supreme Being. Why should we consider ourselves human?
Hum Paramaatma Ke Ansh Hain.
Ishwar Ansh Jeev Avinaashi।
Chetan Amal Sahaj Sukhrashi।। (Manas)
Mamaivaansho Jeevaloke Jeevabhootah Sanaatanah। (Gita)
We are parts of the Supreme Being.
A part of God. The soul is indestructible. Consciousness is naturally blissful. (Manas)
A part of Myself has become the eternal living soul in this world. (Gita)
We must keep in mind that a boy or girl or daughter-in-law from a big house does everything to maintain the honor of their big house. Whether they consider it painful or pleasant, they have to do it to maintain the honor of their big house. Whether they are a prince, the son of a big businessman, or the wife of a businessman, they do not chew on snacks in front of everyone to maintain their family’s dignity. They will go to a five-star hotel to maintain their family’s honor. We may eat sitting on the roadside, but why would they? To maintain honor, every person, every mother, every sister, every daughter, bears many pains for the dignity of their house. What lies do they not tell? What do they not hide? Similarly, this soul is a part of the Supreme Being, it is not ordinary at all.
This human body is like the son of a great house. If we engage it in worthless activities, it will bring disgrace. Our family’s honor will sink. Who is our father— the Supreme Brahman, the Lord of the Universe. We are parts of that universal father, His children. As His children, we should work according to His teachings, just like Lord Ram taught. Sons, I have come as a human and am performing all human duties. Do deeds like I am doing. Krishna taught, Mahatma Buddha taught, Guru Nanak Sahib taught, Saint Ramdas taught, Guru Arjun Das taught. Tulsidas, Kabirdas, Raidas, and many other servants have come. We are not ordinary. We are from a great house and are the sons and daughters of a great father. Oh, if we perform bad deeds here, our father will be ashamed, and our father will be covered with shame. Do not become such worthless children who bring disgrace to their parents. This is our greatest duty in human life. We must remember that we are parts of the Supreme Being. Our own father’s house, husband’s house must not be disgraced. The residents of Vaikunth must not say, “Oh look, your children are doing this.” Even an ordinary father says, “Do not disgrace my name.” Remember the same for that house. Do not disgrace it.
The disgrace can only be removed if we work for it. Oh, the true son is the one who works for the government sincerely. The true servant is the one who works sincerely for his master, whether it involves fighting, dying, or doing whatever is necessary. The trustworthy servant, the trustworthy disciple, or the trustworthy son is the one who is ready to give his life for his family with a smile. The same applies to our family and our father.
This is what is said. We find such evidence in the scriptures—
Tvameva Maata Cha Pitaa Tvameva,
You are my mother and father,
Tvameva Bandhushcha Sakhaa Tvameva,
Tvameva Vidyaa Dravinam Tvameva,
Tvameva Sarvam Mama Deva Deva
You are my brother and friend,
You are my knowledge and wealth,
You are everything, my God
Oh Lord! You are my brother, relative, family, everything. You are my knowledge, my wealth, everything. When all relationships of this being are formed with You, how can we bring disgrace to Your house? We should not. Whoever brings disgrace to Him, my beloved, just like an ordinary father gets angry and disowns his son, removes him from his property, saying he is a vagabond; if that Supreme Being does not give us a place in His attainment, among His people, then my beloved, this being will continue to suffer the torments of hell for countless cycles. This is our human message. We should not disgrace our father, our husband with our bodies. Do not shame them. What will happen to him, he will just clean himself and be alright again, but we will lose our place, in his property, in his religion, in his love, in his house — our right will be lost. If our right, this soul’s right is lost, then Yamaraj will immediately stand with his stick, and throw us into the Kumbhipaka hell. There we will be eaten by worms. May the worms not eat us, may the crocodiles not tear us apart, may the dogs of Yamaraj not drag us, and may we not go to various kinds of hells. To avoid this, we must follow such a path.
These are the duties of humanity, keep performing them. There will be cheers of joy. There, the father will be happy knowing that his son is coming, he will have drums played, flowers showered, and the celestial maidens will start singing. Just like when a good son returns from abroad, preparations for his welcome are made right at the airport. When a boy returns after doing good work abroad, both the government and relatives go to the airport to welcome him. Similarly, if we carry a good reputation from here, our grand welcome will happen at the door of the Supreme Father, otherwise, we will be dragged by Yamaraj’s hooks. Just like the municipality handles stray dogs by putting a hook in their necks and throwing them into a truck. In the same way, Yamaraj will hook us by the neck and throw us into a truck. Later, we will be sent to a medical institute for dissection. My message is that we should not end up being dissected there.
Message to Humanity
Offering obeisance to Narayana, the supreme man, and the goddess Saraswati, let us begin this auspicious endeavor.
Nigamakalpatarorgalitaṁ Phalaṁ,
The Shrimad Bhagavatam is the ripened fruit of the wish-fulfilling tree of the Vedas,
Shukamukhādamṛtadravasaṁyutam,
Pibata Bhāgavataṁ Rasamālayam,
Muhuraho Rasikā Bhuvi Bhāvukāḥ
Flowing with the nectar of immortality from the mouth of Shuka,
O connoisseurs of divine rasa! Drink this essence of nectar again and again,
For there is nothing more relishable in this world
The essence of the Vedas flows from the mouth of Shuka, mixed with nectar. Drink the essence of Bhagavata repeatedly, O connoisseurs and sensitive souls of the earth.
Shri Shukadeva Ji Maharaj says that those connoisseurs and sensitive people who, upon attaining human life, listen to the nectar-like words spoken by the saints and relish their essence are blessed and deserve repeated gratitude. The term “sensitive” means filled with emotion, emotional. Even the 33 crore deities in heaven praise them. This soul, this self, is repeatedly blessed and praised because it has come into human life and savored the nectar of the stories. The Supreme has created a special arrangement for drinking because this story is heard, and the nectar of this story is imbibed through the ears. Through the ears, they relish the name of that Lord. Who relishes it? Sensitive people do.
To fulfill our life, it is essential to be filled with emotions. Simply hearing brings benefits; it is not that hearing does not bring benefits. If hearing did not bring benefits, then all these nectars of stories that are told would be meaningless and useless. So, the benefit of hearing is immense, but merely hearing is not sufficient for the welfare of the soul.
God created a mouth for savoring, but He made two mouths for drinking the nectar of stories — the two ears. This is because only connoisseurs will drink it and who possess previous impressions are tormented, that is, those distant from the Lord due to the impressions of past lives, cannot drink the nectar of this story. Thus, that nectar-filled speech goes in one ear and out the other. In between, there is a deep pool, and that deep pool is the heart. Sensitive people absorb that story, that nectar, that speech in their hearts, and by absorbing it in their hearts, its waves, its fragrance, continue to permeate life.
We should also learn from animals. An animal eats food in one go. However, when it sits in peace, it starts ruminating, and by ruminating, it makes the food fully digestible and takes it back into its stomach. Similarly, sensitive people are those who, while listening to the story, gradually let it seep into their minds, let it seep into their hearts, and then contemplate it repeatedly. A cow or buffalo ruminates after eating grass. Until it ruminates, the food doesn’t digest; it remains raw. In the same way, my dear ones, sensitive people should certainly contemplate and reflect after listening to spiritual discourses. Those sensitive people who do not contemplate and reflect remain raw. Their body parts gradually begin to go in the wrong direction. They start saying that there is nothing here because it remained raw in the stomach. True connoisseurs are those who savor the essence. What is meant by essence? The matter that seeps into the mind, is repeatedly contemplated like rumination, and after rethinking it, is absorbed in the heart, just as an animal takes food back into its stomach. They are sensitive people. And even the deities have been singing praises for such sensitive people.
A little while ago, you heard a hymn. In that hymn, you heard a very peculiar thing that when the guru’s grace happened, my special friend died, it was a very good thing. Then, as the guru’s grace increased, my sister-in-law and elder sister-in-law, who used to fight every day, also died. And when the guru’s grace increased further, my five sons died. As the grace increased even more, the families of those five sons, who had five sons each, also died along with their wives. Then she started saying that if my special friend dies, I would grind wheat and make bread, fry it nicely, and eat it with pudding. How peculiar is it that when the guru showed grace, the whole lineage was destroyed.
Dear ones! Sant Kamalo, who was Kabir’s daughter, was two steps ahead of Kabir. She says that when the guru’s grace happens, the special opposing friend dies. Saint Shirodmani Tulsidas ji clearly states-
Moha Na Naari Naari Ke Roopa,
Do not be deluded by women or their beauty,
Pajjaagaari Yah Reeti Anupa
This is the unique way of the self-realized one
The Supreme Lord has two servants – one is Maya (illusion) and the other is Bhakti (devotion). Maya remains attached to the soul so that the soul does not move towards the Supreme. When the gurus show grace, they kill its companion. Who? Maya. They kill attachment.
Moha Sakal Vyadhin Kar Moola,
Delusion is the root of all ailments,
Taaten Upjaahin Bahuvidhi Shoola
From it arise countless forms of suffering
What is there to cry about in the world? About attachment. What is the sorrow in the world?
What is it about? It is attachment. If the neighbor’s dog dies, it does not affect our eating and drinking habits, but if our own dog dies, we cry for several days. Both are dogs of the same breed and species, yet the death of one does not sadden us, while the death of the other fills us with grief. This is because we were attached to one, but not to the other.
Crying is due to attachment. Singing is also due to attachment. Even shouting is due to attachment. My dear ones! If we reduce attachment, there would be no crying, no mourning, no shouting, no sorrow, no happiness anywhere. Because all these are the children of attachment. When the Guru bestows grace, he eliminates the rival of devotion, which is attachment, that is, the Guru eradicates Maya (illusion). Then devotion says that now I am fine because my main rival is gone. When the Guru bestows even more grace, he kills three more. What are these three? – Tamas (ignorance), Rajas (passion), and Sattva (goodness). The Guru destroys all three. When the Guru bestows even more grace, he kills five sons. The five sons of the soul are – lust, anger, attachment, greed, and ego. The Guru takes a stick and gradually kills all five. The soul becomes happy because its sons have died. Why? Because it was bound by them. Anger tells the intellect to hit with a stick. The intellect agrees and says yes, yes, it needs to be hit. Attachment tells to get attached to flowers. The intellect agrees and says yes, yes, it needs to be done. These are its five sons. When the Guru bestows grace, he also kills these five sons. They have 25 grandsons. Each of these five has five qualities. Call them virtues or vices. Each of the five elements has five qualities. The five primary sense organs, the five primary action organs, the five forms of sound, touch, form, taste, and smell; the five primary desires like lust, anger, greed, etc., were first killed.
And these 5 have their qualities. This is a family of 25. When the Guru bestows grace, he eliminates this entire clan. Upon meditating on the Supreme Soul, all die, but there is still some trouble left. The sisters-in-law in the house, envy, and malice, keep quarreling. These are the sisters-in-law of the soul. This envy keeps burning in the fire of jealousy. When the Guru bestows grace, he kills both these as well. Now remains the free soul. When the soul becomes free, only one word emerges – the Supreme Soul. How wonderful this hymn is!
The husband of intellect is the mind. When the Guru kills the mind, that is, removes the mind from materialism and attaches it to the Supreme Soul, the soul then says, now I am happy. Now I will grind the flour and fry sweets in pure ghee. This means I will engage in the worship of the Supreme Soul with certainty. The soul says that the Guru has removed all my afflictions. What a wonderful discourse this spirituality is proclaiming today!
After the Guru’s satsang, there should be praise and contemplation. Until you do this, my dear ones, true companionship is only in association. The essence that emerges from contemplation and reflection is what is called the essence. That is the truth. Do not leave the company of that truth. My dear ones! The soul will certainly meet the Supreme Soul. This family that has been counted just now, these are 56. The Guru kills them through satsang. But when does he kill them? If you are given a weapon and you lock it away, then that weapon is of no use. It is useful only when wielded. This means promote satsang, reflect upon it. Share it with others if it resonates with your mind. The essence that is reflected upon, spread what you have attained after contemplation.
Saraswati Ke Bhandaar Ki Badi Anupam Baat,
The treasure of Goddess Saraswati is truly unique,
Jyon Jyon Kharche Tyon Tyon Badhe, Bin Kharche Ghat Jaat
The more you spend, the more it grows; if unused, it diminishes
Worldly objects diminish when spent, but knowledge increases the more it is distributed. Wherever devotees gather, share the essence that has filled you. Whether others listen or not, your memory will remain strong. Do not limit satsang.
Dear ones! In this human life, the accumulation of 8.4 million species’ impurities comes together. The 8.4 million species that this soul considers vast is merely a day’s play for Brahma. For Brahma, it is just a day, while this soul has to endure 8.4 million births. When this soul wanders through 8.4 million species, the record of deeds of those species accompanies it, and all becomes decisive. The remaining portion of the punishment from the 8.4 million species is added to this human life. Because in other species, we can’t give this record to you to complete. However, in the human body, one can conclude this record. In this context, Shri Tulsidas Ji has written –
Sab Din Hot Na Ek Samaan
All days are not the same
It is often observed that 90% of our devotees, when God listens to them and acts according to their wishes, go to temples, mosques, gurudwaras, and in the company of saints. If their desires are opposed, when something goes wrong, they start uprooting stone idols and throwing them away. They begin to say that it is all a pretense, they are pretending, they are looting. They start making various accusations and allegations against religion. Such beings, such humans, are not of the Guru’s house but of the house of fools. They belong to the house of fools because –
Yah Sab Hai Poorvakarmi Karni
All this is the result of past actions
Oh, the deeds you have done in 8.4 million lifetimes, will someone else suffer them? No, you will have to suffer your own deeds. Therefore, we should not feel distressed in enduring the fruits of our deeds! At the Guru’s door, at the saint’s door, at God’s door, praying to remove those sufferings is a great mistake. Oh, at that time, we should pray that Lord, give us the strength to endure those sufferings. If we say, remove my sufferings, the Guru will remove them, but where will they go, they will come back.
Today, by bribing the bank manager, you can delay the loan for a year or two. You cannot empty the bank. When another manager comes, he will uproot that file again. Similarly, we should never try to suppress our deeds by seeking refuge in the Gurus. We should pray, oh Lord! give us the strength to endure the sufferings, whether they are good or bad, so that we can settle the account of 8.4 million lifetimes in this body itself. If we complete it, we will surely become proficient or debt-free.
As long as there are unresolved matters in the world, my dear ones! Even if you meditate for a hundred thousand years, you will have to come here. Donate thousands, billions, trillions of rupees, still, you will have to come to enjoy the fruits of those deeds. Perform hundreds of sacrifices, study scriptures, contemplate, you will have to come. The bondage of rebirth will not be cut because what materialism demands must be given.
At this time, we pray, perform sacrifices to stop that matter, but it will come back with interest. Oh, when we receive the donations from the Supreme Soul increased by 100 times, will the sins committed be reduced by 100 times? These are two accounts – one of deposits, the other of withdrawals. Now, keep focusing on the withdrawing amount; if you do not deposit, the bank will raise its hands. It will say that only 2 rupees are left in the bank, you can withdraw them. Therefore, we need to add new deeds to them, make fixed deposits. And endure the old deeds joyfully and happily. Seek one thing in the refuge of Gurus that, Oh Lord! whatever impressions or sufferings from past births are there, let us endure them in this birth, but give us enough inner strength that we do not get frightened by these sufferings and endure them happily. By doing so, the sins of our previous births are eradicated. If your cloth is dirty, if you give it to the washerman, will he be attached to the cloth? He will heat it to remove the dirt, add bleaching powder, and use chemicals. When he sees that it is still not clean, he will beat it on a stone because he wants to clean the cloth. Similarly, to purify our mental tendencies, we should not pray to stop the consequences of past deeds. Let them come. Take inner strength from the Supreme Soul or the Gurus or the saints so that we can endure them.
Today, we received a message from Data Ji that my dear ones become extremely anxious and, in their anxiety, break their inner strength and begin to perform heinous actions again. This is all due to past deeds.
Oh foolish human! Why don’t you accept that in 8.4 million lifetimes, you have done good deeds which you enjoy and bad deeds which you give to someone else to bear? When you enjoy the good, you will have to bear the bad as well. Make the Supreme Soul the bearer of both good and bad, and you will be assured.
If we stay in a city of thieves at night and hide our jewelry and valuables throughout the night, we will get little sleep, and the thieves will take them away. However, if we go to the city of thieves and hand over all our precious diamonds, pearls, and jewels to the chief of thieves, you will sleep soundly, and the chief will guard them all night. If you guard them, you will have to stay awake all night, that is guaranteed. If you entrust the thieves in the city of thieves, all the goods will be saved and you will get them back in the morning.
Humanity lies in this, the true goal of human life is this, and human birth also happens for this goal – to settle all old debts, loans, crimes, and virtues equally. If in human birth we perform the same actions as other species, then what is the benefit of this human birth! Oh, eating-drinking, crying-weeping, feeling joy-sorrow, screaming-shouting, these are found in other species, in every species. If we are doing only this much, then our human life is wasted. The human species is above all other species, it is supreme. There is no species above it – not Brahma, not Vishnu, not Shiva, not Devi, not Durga. This is the highest. The deities are enjoying very beautiful pleasures but are unable to perform deeds.
My dear ones! This species has been given such a great right, it has been given such great freedom by that Supreme Soul that humans are bound to endure the results of past deeds but are completely free to perform new deeds. Other species are not free. Other species can only endure; they cannot perform deeds. Even the deities think about this species. That God, that Supreme Brahman, that God, that giver of all, that Supreme Soul present in every atom and molecule also takes refuge in this human body. Sages, monks, ascetics, and renunciates all take refuge in human life. When that Supreme Soul removes the burden of the earth, it takes a human form.
Paritrāṇāya Sādhūnāṁ Vināśāya Cha Duṣkṛtām,
For the protection of the righteous and the destruction of the wicked,
Dharma Saṁsthāpanārthāya Sambhavāmi Yuge Yuge
For the establishment of dharma, I manifest in every age
Whenever that Supreme Soul incarnates, it assumes a human body. Even to propagate religion, it comes in human form, which we call saints, sages, yogis, with many names. Whenever there is a decline in righteousness, and demons and the arrogant increase, it comes in a human body to burn and suppress them. Whenever there is a decline in righteousness, it incarnates in the form of saints all over the earth and re-establishes righteousness according to the age.
The Vedas say that without a body, one cannot worship or perform deeds. My dear ones! This is our everyday message. Do not break this priceless diamond with stones. Do not throw this priceless diamond in filth, do not waste this priceless diamond thinking it is useless. This is what I say. This human body is a priceless diamond. Worldly desires, anger, greed, attachment, and ego are stones. Do not break this diamond with stones. Do not throw this diamond in filth. My dear ones! What is filth? Sensual desires, misconduct, this is filth, do not put this diamond in this filth. If this diamond is broken by stones or thrown in filth, my dear ones! We have lost the game of humanity, we have ruined the human body, meaning we will not get this golden opportunity again. That Lord has given us this body out of mercy. If we believe that we got this body through our deeds, it is wrong. No scripture provides such evidence. By performing sacrifices, you can enjoy pleasures, you can take heaven, you can receive donations in exchange for donations, but you cannot get a human body. For a human body, only the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Soul shows mercy, and thus this human body is obtained—
Kabahunk Karunaa Kar Nar Dehi,
At times, out of His boundless compassion,
Det Eesh Binu Hetu Sanehi
God grants a human birth without any specific cause, purely out of love
That Supreme Soul has no motive. He does not want anyone to worship Him, He does not want anyone to offer garlands to Him, He does not want anyone to perform sacrifices for Him. He has no motive of any kind. Humans do it for themselves, not for Him. By performing sacrifices, virtuous deeds, and donations, the accounts get closed, and the soul becomes eligible for liberation. If the cycle of birth and death continues, then for hundreds of millions of kalpas, this soul will remain in hell, and the measure of hell, my dear ones, is very large, not small. A kalpa is not small. When 360 of our years pass, one year of the gods is completed. One chaturyuga consists of 12,000 divine years. One day of Brahma is made up of 1,000 chaturyugas. In this, 14 Manus pass (Shri Vishnu Purana, third chapter). Now, you can gauge its measure. Thus, one kalpa comes to 17 crore 64 lakh and 36 thousand years. For so many days, this soul will reside in hell, continuing in the cycle of birth and death. This is our golden opportunity. If we lose it, we are committing a great injustice to ourselves. This message is given daily on behalf of the institution.
Our only legacy is this – the human body. In the world, every object is obtained, and every enjoyment is attained in every species. All the material pleasures of the world are found everywhere in the 8.4 million species – from the worm in the dirty drain to the elephant, from the bird to the Garuda. In all the egg-born, womb-born, sweat-born, and earth-born species, this soul takes birth and receives all enjoyments in every species. Six types of enjoyments are described in the scriptures. The seventh is not any enjoyment at all.
Food, sleep, fear, and mating – these four natural tendencies are attached to the living being. These are obtained in every species. Look at the worm in the drain. It is eating, producing offspring, experiencing fear, and the male-female union is present in it as well. These are present in the elephant too. All the four types of creations that God has made have these four things present in them.
If our life remains limited to these four things, then what is the purpose of assuming this human life? What is the aim of assuming it? The scriptures have called this human species the highest among the 8.4 million species, and Tulsidas Ji has emphasized this by saying –
Bade Bhaag Maanush Tan Paava,
Great is the fortune of attaining a human body,
Sur Durlabh Sab Granthan Gaava
All scriptures declare it rare even for the gods
Great fortune is said. Small fortunes, like heaven, etc., are obtained by sacrifices, donations, penance, etc. Vast wealth, kingdoms, etc., can be obtained. Through sacrifices, one can obtain the desired objects, can attain heaven. But the human body is not obtained. It is certain from the commands of the saints that one cannot obtain a human body by performing sacrifices, donations, or virtuous deeds because – “With great fortune, a human body is obtained.” Another specialty is mentioned – “It is rare even for gods.” This is also desired by the gods, it is rare even for them. Tulsidas Ji is saying (I am not saying this) – “The sacred scriptures have proclaimed; the sacred scriptures have said so.” He says that they have read the Vedas, scriptures, Smritis, Puranas, Vedanta. In all of these, they found one essence that the human body is extremely rare. Now, the question arises, if it is not obtained through donations and virtues, how is it obtained –
Kabahunk Karunaa Kar Nar Dehi,
At times, out of His boundless compassion,
Det Eesh Binu Hetu Sanehi
God grants a human form without any cause, purely out of love
When this soul becomes extremely distressed, surrounded by sufferings, entangled in various kinds of obstacles, then the Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Soul shows mercy. And at that time, the Guru is a witness, Brihaspati is a witness that, “Oh Supreme Soul! Give it the human body once more.” That Supreme Soul, out of compassion, grants that soul entry into the human body. The saints, the gurus say, “Oh Supreme Soul! Give it the human body once more. We are guarantors, witnesses. We will certainly make it take your name.” That is why you see that saints everywhere, in their huts, in their ashrams, on the streets, in alleys, in neighborhoods, keep proclaiming that “Worship God, otherwise the messengers of Yama will take you away. You will suffer the torments of Yama. There will be more and more sufferings. You will not get a human body because the testimony has been given. The rule there is that if he is not present, then you be present. The testimony that you have given. You become a partaker of sin and virtue.
The human life is hard to attain, it is obtained with difficulty. This body is not for doing the works that animals and birds are doing. Now, what is the specialty in humans—
Dharmohi Teshaamadhiko Visheshah,
Dharma is the greatest distinction of human beings;
Dharmena Heenaah Pashubhih Samaanaah
Without dharma, they are no different from animals
Now there are two more specialties in humans. One, humans were given special knowledge and special power to do righteousness. The knowledge is not of materialism. Even ants and elephants have this knowledge. Oh, place something sweet or salty before an ant. Immediately it will reach for the sweet. It has this much knowledge that this is food for it. This is not knowledge. Knowledge is knowing where I came from and all the complexities done, the witnesses in my life were Guru Maharaj, Brihaspati. In the end, why did I come here? And what was I sent for, and what am I doing? Have this awareness. Oh, the work I came for, am I doing it or not? Or am I doing illegal work, work that will get me punished?
So, in human life, we have special knowledge, and that knowledge should be imbued with discernment, not materialistic knowledge, but spiritual knowledge which is beyond material knowledge. In that knowledge, there is discernment, and in materialistic knowledge, there is lack of discernment. In materialistic knowledge, there is foolishness because the person cannot judge between sin and virtue. In the knowledge of the Supreme Soul, there is discernment. Discernment is knowing that I should do the work for which I have come here. In the context of this world, where I am engaged I have gone, but this collection will not accompany me because when I was not there, this world still existed. When I was not there, wealth and prosperity were still there. The house was also there. All things were there when I was not. And now that I have been born, these are still here. When our lifespan ends, these will still remain. These are present in all three times. The enjoyment of materialism did not come with us, nor will it go with us. These were there before, are here now, and will remain after our death.
The things that will not go with us from here, we are constantly entangled in them day and night. We constantly remember them day and night. Even in our dreams, we think of them. In our dreams, we see those things. When we see those things in our dreams, they will certainly come before us at the time of death. And when those things come before us at the time of death, when that memory comes— “The state of mind at the end determines the destination.” At the end time, whatever the intellect and memory of this soul are, it immediately attains that state. Lord Krishna has also said in the Gita—
Yaṁ Yaṁ Vāpi Smaran Bhāvaṁ Tyajatyante Kalevaram,
Whatever state of being one remembers at the time of death,
Taṁ Tamevaiti Kaunteya Sadā Tadbhāva-Bhāvitaḥ
That alone one attains, O Kaunteya, being always absorbed in that thought
Oh son of Kunti, Arjuna! Whatever state of being a person remembers while leaving his body at the end, he attains that state because he has always been absorbed in that state.
That is why saints always practice taking the name of the Supreme Soul on their tongues, whether they are sleeping, awake, eating, drinking, crying, or laughing, they always take that name so that st the time of death, may we not forget this name. My dear ones! It is a principle that the thing we are attached to in life, we remember at the end. What we have the most attachment to, that is what we remember. What we do not have attachment to, why would we remember that?
When we do not have love for the name of the Supreme Soul, why will we remember it? We will not. We have considered the name of God to be a crime. We have considered it wrong. We feel ashamed to take the name of God, we feel embarrassed. We feel ashamed to attend satsang, thinking that people might say that so-and-so is becoming a devotee because we have developed hatred for the name of a devotee. We do not feel ashamed to pay one lakh rupees to become a member of a club because we want to be considered high-status individuals. We consider the holy water of Tulsi as something contemptible but do not feel ashamed to stand in line at the liquor store. Applying sandalwood paste is considered a bad thing, inauspicious, impure, and hypocrisy. We may apply 100 grams of powder on our faces but feel ashamed to apply a dot of sandalwood paste. The Vedas testify –
Chandanasya Mahat Puṇyaṁ Pavitraṁ Pāpanāśanam,
Great is the merit of sandalwood, It is pure and destroys sins,
Āpadāharaḥ Nityaṁ Lakṣmī Tiṣṭhati Sadā
It always removes distress, And Goddess Lakshmi resides in it forever
Gandhadvārā Durādharṣā Nityaṁ Puṣṭaṁ Karīṣyaṁ,
Through her fragrance, she is invincible and ever nourishing,
Īśvarīṁ Sarvabhūtānāṁ Tāmihopahvaye Śriyam
The supreme goddess of all beings,
I invoke that divine Shri (Lakshmi) here
Sandalwood has many qualities; it is the abode of Lakshmi, it brings purity to the mind, the intellect becomes clear, and if sandalwood is applied at the time of death, the messengers of Yama will come with great thought, otherwise, they will not come. That is why you see that at the time of death, after bathing apply sandalwood. But if Yamaraj takes them beforehand, what is the use of applying the tilak.
Sandalwood and tilak daily alleviate sufferings. In this context, there is a story that a Chandala (outcast) chased after a dog. The dog, to save its life, entered a temple. The Chandala followed it. At that moment, both the dog and the Chandala died. A kite flew by and accidentally dropped its droppings on them. That droppings dried up. Before death, the messengers of Yamaraj and the messengers of Dharmaraj arrived. They started arguing about who would take these two souls. They said, “Why? This is a Chandala; he has committed so many crimes since childhood. This is a dog, an inherently impure creature. We have the right to take them.” But the attendants of God said, “Oh messengers, accept what we say. The order of the powerful must be obeyed. The attendants of Lord Narayan are very powerful, they can destroy the entire hell realm in a second.” They asked, “Explain to us why you want to take them.” They said, “It’s not our place to explain, go and tell your master.” Yamaraj heard these words. He approached Lord Narayan and said, “Oh Lord! If this decree is violated, what is my purpose then? That is, what is my authority? Tell me how I will punish the sinners.” The attendants were asked, “What made you bring them here?” They said, “Where are they impure? They have sandalwood on their foreheads. They have become pure and their sins have been eradicated. So, Lord, please tell us whether they will go to hell or come to you.”
God said, then they will come to me. So tell Yamaraj not to bind such beings whose forehead has sandalwood applied, who are not without a mark. Any kind of mark, but a mark. There are ten signs written, if even one sign is found, oh Yamaraj, do not go near them.
We have started feeling ashamed and hateful towards sandalwood. This means we are moving away from humanity and adopting all the qualities of demons. We have started eating with great relish what demons used to eat. We have started speaking the language of demons. Just as they lived freely, we have started living the same way. Do not do this! Adopt the qualities of humanity.
Memory holds the highest place. We remember every object, and I also remember that the ones from Sawan Park are late because I had stopped. Remembrance is the main goal of our life. Every organ is present in the human body – eyes, ears, stomach, but after losing memory, nothing is left. He does not recognize his own. We always remember this worldly life. If we do not get food, we remember. If we do not get to eat, we remember. We do not forget giving something to someone, we remember. Memory is the subject of the greatest sorrow, my dear ones! It is a matter of weeping, a matter of extreme suffering. The one who sent us here, we do not remember him. Oh, we remember everything but not that Supreme Brahman, the Supreme Soul, who did everything for us. He protected us in the form of an egg in the womb. He provided us food through a beautiful canal inside the stomach. He created our organs inside. The mother eats standing, eats crunchy, eats sweet and he protects us. Otherwise, such a delicate body would catch fire just by eating chutney. If a little chili touches your body, you will be ready to kill it or shout. But look at the womb, how soft the body is, but the Lord protects it from those chilies. Protects it from hot objects. Protects it from extreme cold and heat. And when the soul comes out, it provides a river of milk. Upon arrival here, it provides very good servants, unpaid servants. Oh, aunt, uncle, grandfather, all carry the baby in their lap. They do not take up employment. When it grows a bit older, it provides friends. When it grows even older, it strengthens the body parts and brings it to the field of action. After coming to the field of action, it says – I did this, I will do that; if I hadn’t done this, how would it have happened. Ask it that when you were an egg, what could you do? When your body parts were not formed in the womb, what could you do then? When you came out of the womb, what could you do besides crying?
Our greatest religion is the religion of remembrance, the religion of memory. The person whose memory is lost, my dear ones! Everything of theirs is lost, what remains with them? If we go mad, what will remain for us of brother, sister, home, property? Nothing. In the same way, we have forgotten the remembrance of that home. Truly forgotten. Oh, sometimes we remember for show, that is another matter. We do say thank you to someone who shows us the way. We do thank them.
Paramaatma Ne Light Free Di,
The Supreme Being has given light for free,
Koi Bill Nahin Bhejta,
Paani Free,
Hawa Free
without sending any bill,
Water is free,
Air is free
God has given free light, sends no bill. Water is free, air is free, no bill comes. The sights of nature are free; no bill is sent for them, no tax is sent. Every kind of comfort has been provided to us. But let us think about how selfish we are. How ungrateful we are. Humans consider themselves very clever, thinking, “I am very clever, I have earned money, I have set up this factory, I have built this ashram.” We keep competing with the Supreme Soul, thinking, “I have done this, I have done that.” This is a competition with the Supreme Soul. We have completely forgotten the Supreme Soul.
You may break a mala (rosary), but in one word, you have competed with the Supreme Soul. Oh, you may do bhajan (devotional singing) all day, perform sacrifices, do virtuous deeds, give charity, but by uttering the word ‘I,’ all games end. ‘I’ means – competing with the Supreme Soul. The condition of those who compete with the Supreme Soul is always bad. Oh, even great demons could not compete with the Supreme Soul, great monsters could not compete, great strongmen could not compete. They were defeated. And we equate ourselves with the Supreme Soul, thinking, “I have done this.” So, however many virtues we have, they become half by saying ‘I.’
Let us control our words, adjust our words, start bringing a little change in our words. What is change? If any good work is done, just say, keep the sentiment that, “Oh Lord! It happened by Your grace, oh Guru Maharaj! It happened by Your grace.” We did it, earned money will stay in our house, but what difference does it make to say this. If we offer food to God before eating, what harm is there? Keep two chapatis in front of God, before Thakur Ji, Place two chapatis before Guru Maharaj, and only two will remain. If 1 ½ remains, do not offer bhog the next day. If you ever happen to do so, do not offer bhog. Instead, sit by the plate and remember that Brahman, that Supreme Soul, that Guru power, and partake. What will happen then? Nothing will be deducted from your share, and that meal will become sanctified, becoming prasada. You will say, “I did not take food, I took prasada.” When we eat food with the remembrance of Guru or God, that food automatically becomes prasada because it has been offered for that purpose.
Nimittamātraṁ Bhava Savyasāchin
Be merely an instrument, O Savyasachi (Arjuna)
God says, “Oh Arjuna, be merely an instrument, do not act; oh, doing is my job, I will continue to do it myself, you just need to become an instrument.” Because without being an instrument, there is no cause, and without a cause, there is no action, and without action, there is no success. Therefore, just become an instrument. I have told you to be merely an instrument; it is just the difference of saying a word. It does not cost anything, and nothing is lost, we do not become smaller, nor are we called poor.
My dear ones! Remember, the heavy pan always stays down. The pan with more weight will always be lower. An empty pan will go up. This is a matter of principle. Similarly, when you bow before the Supreme Soul, in the eyes of the Supreme Soul, you will become very great, you will become certain. That is why I am telling you that it is just a matter of words, there is no transaction. From today, let us vow that I have done this, I will understand you, I will do this for you – do not say such things. The word ‘I’ has been ending from the beginning. Even Ravana said it ended. The goat says ‘me-me,’ and it ends. Hiranyaksha said ‘me-me,’ and it ended. Jarasandha said ‘me-me,’ and it ended. Let’s remove this ‘me.’ Remove ‘me’ and use ‘you,’ what difference does it make. Oh Lord! Oh Guru! What you are doing is good. This is the greatest means of satisfying our mind.
As long as there is no satisfaction in the mind, materialistic things will keep bothering you. ‘More-more’ will keep happening. We will end up living an unsatisfactory life. Therefore, let us control our speech in the humanity we talk about every evening. First, we started this class with pictures, starting with food and behavior. Behavior includes speech. Purify speech first by saying, ‘Oh Lord! Your grace, Oh Guru Maharaj! Your mercy.’ What you are doing is right. Who did this? Lord! You did, God! You did, deity! You did, Guru! You did. Saying this saves us from six things. First, there is no attachment to that thing. When it belongs to the Lord, what is the attachment about? There is no anger because of the Lord’s grace, why should we be angry? There is no arrogance. ‘I’ has arrogance that I did this. The chest will swell, the hands will rise. But saying ‘Oh Lord! Oh Guru Maharaj! You did it,’ will not bring arrogance; the neck will bow down. The amount of greed will decrease. Why will it decrease? Because, ‘Oh Lord! Oh Guru Maharaj! What you have given is right.’ Satisfaction will come. Then lust, anger, pride, greed, attachment, and jealousy will all weaken. What Guru Maharaj has given is right. We should not have envy. Why will it happen? Lust, anger, pride, greed, attachment, and envy, these six change just by one word, nothing else needs to be done. Just change the word on your tongue, change the sentiment.
‘Ego’ is the cause of destruction. ‘I surrender to you’ is the cause of upliftment. Decline and upliftment are two words. ‘Ego’ causes a person to fall, causes decline. What causes our upliftment? The sentiment of surrender causes our upliftment. When the sentiment of surrender comes, a human gradually rises upwards. Rising means the person starts moving towards the Supreme Soul.
In our human life, let us just change our speech. Today’s message from the messenger is that many of my dear ones are sitting, today tell them to control their speech so that they start using the word ‘you’ instead of ‘I’. This will lead to welfare, this will lead to joy, and in this, attachment, aversion, and envy will automatically end. When the food for arrogance is not given, how will it live? Oh! Every thing needs food. If these parts do not get food, they will start to wither. Lust, anger, pride, greed, attachment, and envy need ‘ego’ as food. If we stop providing its food from today, they will gradually become weak. When they become weak, the senses will become strong. This is a rule. When the influence of demons is there, the gods hide in the corners, and when divine power becomes strong, demons go to the netherworld. Similarly, the battle between gods and demons has been going on in our body and will continue to go on. Because the five senses and five action-organs, their battle continues equally. Now, when the demonic tendencies of the action-organs become strong, the senses, they will become weak. They will not die, but they will become weak. And when the senses become strong, the action-organs will become weak. The food for the action-organs is ‘I’ and the food for the senses is ‘you.’ ‘You’ means surrender to God. The senses will not become strong in a day. When you water a plant, it does not turn green immediately. Gradually, when the senses become strong, memory will automatically arise in the mind. When there is memory in the mind, the lotus of name will bloom automatically. When the lotus of name blooms, my dear ones! There will be only happiness, only joy. It has been a rule that we distribute what is in our pocket. Oh, if we have nothing, what will we distribute? Whatever is in the bag, that is what we will distribute – bitter or sweet.
If there is the feeling of ‘I’ in the body-like bag, we will distribute hatred in the society, among lovers. We will distribute jealousy. We will distribute anger. If we have peace, we will distribute peace to the society. We will distribute joy. We will always give solace and the way to upliftment. This means our body is not ordinary. It is very precious land. It is fertile land, not barren land. It produces diamonds and pearls, but we do not take care of them. The way to take care is – surrender. The way to take care is – Oh Lord! You know. Saying this does not harm us. We have to do the work, but what harm is there in putting it on His shoulders? Putting it on His shoulders and doing the work is not a bad thing. He will become our protector, he will become our witness. He will become our companion. He becomes our helper. So what greater thing is there than this?
Maanavtaa Mein Jabaan Se ‘Main’ Ko Hata Kar ‘Tu’ Ka Dheere-Dheere Abhyaas
In humanity, gradually practice removing ‘I’ from your speech and replacing it with ‘You’
Make a resolution in your mind that whatever work there is, it should be written in the name of the Guru or God. Writing it down, he will not claim it, will not demand it, not at all. Instead, he will protect it. Oh, if we surrender any of our possessions to the owner of that house, we will sleep peacefully at night. If we keep the possessions with us and sleep, we will wake up again and again and check if the possessions are there. If we hand over the same possessions to the owner, we will sleep peacefully, no problem at all.
My dear ones! Surrender yourselves at the feet of that Supreme Brahman or the Guru, there will be no trace of sorrow. They are such laborers who work for you day and night without any salary, they will keep guarding, and there will never be any theft in their guardianship. This is also guaranteed. Today, we presented the message we received from the giver before you. Obeying the orders of the Giver is our humanity. Obeying this is our upliftment. Obeying this means being free from thousands of diseases. The disease lies in ‘I.’ The pain lies in ‘I’ and worry also lies in ‘I.’ Worry causes stomach ailments. Certainly, you will save yourself from thousands of diseases. You will become completely healthy.
This human life is precious, and we have been given this precious body. This body is given to us to perform good deeds. The Supreme Soul has given us this body and sent us to this field of action –
Saadhan Dhaam Moksha Kar Dwaara,
The human body is the abode of spiritual practice and the gateway to liberation,
Maanav Shareer Ke Dwaara Hi Saadhan Ho Sakte Hain। Kyonki –
“Shareer Maadhyamam Khalu Dharmasaadhanam”
Only through the human body can spiritual disciplines be performed. Because—
The body is indeed the primary means for the practice of dharma
Without the human body, there can be no religion. Without the human body, there can be no charity, virtue, or remembrance. Truth, service, and remembrance – all scriptures have one consensus. Every saint’s words have three essential elements – service, remembrance, and truth.
The fourth thing we do not receive. Do not forget to remember daily. Do not forget your memory. Always speak the truth and recognize the truth. Only speaking the truth will not lead to our salvation. Dedicate your body to service.
My dear ones! The service we do for our household is not considered service. That is our responsibility, our duty. When we have children, we have to bathe them. When they grow up, we have to send them to school. We have to pay the fees. People say that I am engaged in the service of the household. That is not service; that is our responsibility. The Supreme Soul has given us a small responsibility. Its name cannot be service. When we serve without any desire, apart from the family, that is called service. When we do something for another person, that is called service.. When we go to the Guru’s abode and serve, it is called service. Service is that which, after doing, we do not desire its benefit.
Oh, in family services, there is a desire that he will grow up, attain a high position, work for me, and make my name famous. There is a quantity of greed in that service. Or we have given birth to him, created him, so it becomes our duty. That is not considered service. Service is when works for public welfare are done. Do not keep any personal gain in it. Do not keep any interest in it. Do not keep any selfishness.
Remembrance is that which opens the knots of the mind. The thousand-petaled lotus is on our head, it starts developing. Above the thousand-petaled lotus, there is a lotus of sixteen petals, it starts vibrating. Above it, there is an eighteen-petaled lotus near the heart, it starts vibrating. And when attention stops at the eyebrow center, it is called remembrance. Although chanting the name is not useless. While walking, moving, eating, drinking, we should practice, but that is not considered remembrance. Because –
Manuva To Changun Dish Phirai, Yah To Smaran Naahin
The mind wanders in all directions, But does not remember the Lord
The mind is wandering all around, the rosary is rotating in the hand, that is not remembrance. But doing this is also very necessary because practice is also necessary – by practice, O Kaunteya. While eating, drinking, sleeping, waking, we take support of that name. That name will one day take us across this ocean of existence.
So the main things in our life are found to be three. I mentioned service – service to saints, service to gurus, service to deities, and service to society. Remembrance of the one who is the lord of all three worlds, the controller, the fearless one. He fears no one. He is complete in himself, no other can be like him. He is indivisible, imperishable, and indestructible. No one can cut him. He cannot be divided. We have indeed created divisions, establishing religions in various places, but the Supreme Soul cannot be divided because he is one. There cannot be another from one. He is changeless. He has no faults. He cannot be broken. He should be remembered.
When he is fearless, why will he let us fall into the ocean of existence when we take his name? He is fearless. When we take his name, why will he let fear come near us? He will make us fearless because the principle is that iron which comes near the philosopher’s stone becomes gold. By remembering the Supreme Soul, we get his vision. Will he let us go to hell? Will he give us pain? Will he give us sorrow? Never. But we are experiencing happiness, sorrow, and pain because our faith in him is not yet firm. Our faith is not yet established in him. Our balance is not equal. That’s why we are experiencing sorrow and pain. We are traversing many kinds of life forms.
If we do not think about this in human life, we will not be able to think about it in other life forms because other life forms do not have discernment. Among 8.4 million life forms, only human life form has discernment. Discernment means knowing what is true and what is false.
Recognize this. The truth is that which stays with us. What remains with us is the truth, and what leaves us is false. Oh, all these buildings, houses, etc., will leave us. They will not go with us; because this is just a travelers’ lodge, one comes, another goes. This is not the truth. The family we die for day and night, suffer for, and commit various kinds of sinful acts for, this family is also not true because the family will not go with us. Now, what is the truth? We have to search for it.
The truth is only the name of the Lord. Apart from that, nothing is true, everything is false. But when we are living in this false world, we have to go along with it. The rent must be paid for the house we live in. We are in materialism, that is, in the field of action, so we have to maintain the relationships of materialism. But we should not get trapped in it. Certainly, maintain them, but do not become bound. Remain independent and accept the true Lord. Accept the duty given by the Supreme Soul and keep doing it, do not run away. Keep doing both tasks. Only then can we be saved. Otherwise, dear ones, if this human life goes in vain, it will not be found again. Even after experiencing 8.4 million life forms, this human life will not be obtained again.
This soul has always been lying to the Supreme Soul. Before coming into the human body, it says, “Oh Lord! I will remember you, I will see you. I will live as yours only.” But when it comes here, it completely throws the Supreme Soul aside, away, and does not bring the name of the Supreme Soul on its tongue. My dear ones! If this body is ours, why should we let it weaken? Why should we let it age? If this body is ours, why should we let it die?
That is, even this body is not ours. Think about it, if this body itself is not ours, then what else could be ours? But we never let the name of the Supreme Soul come to our lips. Beloved ones! Does anyone say that all this belongs to the Supreme Soul? No one says that. They only say it is theirs. The Supreme Soul’s? Why?
Jaa Tan Diyo Taahi Bisaarayo,
The very body that was given by Him has been forgotten,
Aiso Namak Haraami
Such is the depth of ingratitude
We have forgotten the one who gave us this human body. We feel ashamed to remember him.
My dear ones! We feel ashamed here, but when we go before Yama (the god of death) and receive his punishment, then where will the shame go? When Yama sends us to hell, to the great dreadful hell, to the Kumbhipaka hell, and assigns us to various life forms, what will happen to the shame we feel now?
Many dear ones do not come to Satsang (spiritual gathering) because they are hesitant that people will call them wanderers, going to the mountains. But my dear ones! The one who stays close to the pivot of the human grinder will not be ground to powder. They will be saved intact. And the one who strays away from the pivot will be ground to dust. Whoever trusts the sacred texts, trusts the saints, and takes refuge in that Supreme Lord will not be ground to dust. Otherwise, when Yama’s stick strikes, they will be ground to dust and it will be difficult to obtain a human body again. Keeping this in mind, we should not waste a single moment of this human life.
We should engage in good deeds. We should participate in selfless service. That means we should remain filled with goodwill. We should also earn our daily bread. Keeping these things in mind, we should safeguard our human life. This is our daily proclamation that we announce every day. Whether anyone agrees or not, that is up to them.
That supreme Brahman, the Supreme Being, is the protector of every creature, and keeps every creature safe in every way. When that Lord protects even an ant, and also protects the largest animals like elephants, why would he not protect this human life? However, we suffer various kinds of hardships due to our own actions or our ego. We are worse off than those creatures who have no worries or concerns. They are sure about their food, sleep, and mating. They are stronger than us. Humans are surrounded by worries and troubles day and night. God says that if you want to worry, then worry about me. If you must worry, then worry that the human body does not go to waste. Worry about whether I have done any noble deeds in this human life. Or whether I have embraced humanity or not. Have I not run away from humanity? Worry about this. Or worry about the name of that Lord that my every moment is decreasing. Every moment I keep forgetting the Lord whom I have always come to.
The Supreme Being is always eternal, always immortal, and always in one state, meaning no one has been able to find the beginning, middle, or end of him. We have turned away from that eternal Supreme Being. We worry about things that do not last forever.
We are thinking, we are crying for them. We are repenting in various ways for them. Worry about this, worry about whether I am not running away from humanity. And always keep your human life safe. To keep life safe means to reserve it. What is reservation? We are dedicating this body to materialism, to that Supreme Being who protects everything from ants to elephants. We do not surrender ourselves to him. After surrendering this five-elemental body to him, there are no obstacles left – not a single obstacle. When this soul goes into the refuge of the Lord, through the gurus, no obstacle troubles it because it realizes that this is the fruit of my past actions. I will endure them quickly. Now we fear that suffering, we are afraid because we are ignorant. We always want only happiness, never any sorrow. But my dear ones! Without sorrow, there is no experience of happiness. Oh, how can a person enjoy the shade if he does not walk in the sun? The joy of shade comes only when someone walks on the path in the sun. The importance of water is realized only when one is very thirsty. The taste of food is realized only in intense hunger, what food really is.
Once we surrender ourselves to the Lord, we will realize what his joy is. We worry day and night about the materials of indulgence. Oh, just think about this, his name is Lakshmipati, Lakshminarayan, he is the lord of the world and the father of the world. His name is Lakshmipati.
It is only until our thoughts and ego are present. As long as there is ego in this human body, the Supreme Being remains distant from us. He has only one thing to say: “Oh soul! You are all-powerful, protect yourself.” When we surrender to Him, He protects us.
Sain Naam was a very good devotee. He was a barber by caste. He used to do the hairdressing of the king. He did not do hairdressing for ordinary people. One day, his mind got engrossed in the meditation of the Lord. When Guru Maharaj came home, he got engrossed in serving him. He forgot that he had to go to the king for hairdressing that day. He did not remember. That Supreme Being, that Guru, became Sain the barber and went to do the hairdressing of the king. Now, where the Lord’s hand touches, what can be said? The king was very happy. The king gave 24 villages as a reward to that Sain barber. He wrote it on a copperplate. When Sain devotee came to his senses, after leaving the service of Guru Maharaj, he remembered that he did not go to do the hairdressing of the king today. Today, the king will have him killed. But at the same time, he felt great joy that if the king has him killed, it would be very good because he served Guru Maharaj at the last moment. After serving, it would be good if my body is released. Who knows what kinds of impurities will arise in my mind tomorrow.
When Sain the barber reached the king, the king laughed and said, “Sain devotee, how did you come again today?” Sain devotee replied, “What did you say, Maharaj?” The king said, “Yes, yes, you just came. Were the 24 villages not enough for you?” He started telling his ministers, “Give these 24 villages more as a reward.”
“Give them to me.” Sain the barber understood. He said, “I don’t want the villages, and I am also here to tell you that from today, I don’t want your service either. I have come to tell you both things.” The king said, “Why so?” Sain the devotee replied, “Lord, it is just like that.” He said, “From today onwards, I will not come to serve you, nor do I need your villages. That Supreme Being, who comes to do your hairdressing, will suffer every day because of me. I am used to serving Guru Maharaj. My mind gets engrossed at his feet. Why should I seek the pain of doing your hairdressing? When the Almighty sent you to become the king of the empire, would my sustenance be managed with 24 villages? He can make me the king of the empire too, if he wants. If he doesn’t want, I am content with whichever form he keeps me in.” He immediately resigned. This is true devotion. This is true, profound love. This is true action. When such strength comes into the mind, then my beloveds! There is no shortage anywhere. If the stories of Bhaktamal are false, then I am also lying. And if the true character of devotees is written in that book, then this is also true.
The character of Dhanna Jat is written in that book. He was a poor farmer. During the time of Vrishabha, his mind got engrossed in the Lord. His guru came to his house. He started serving him. He got engrossed in the kirtan. He got so engrossed in the chanting of Ram that the time to sow the crops passed by. When he woke up, he realized he hadn’t sown the crops. Now he would starve to death. But his crops grew many times more than those of the people of other villages. It is written that the field of Dhanna Bhakt yielded so much produce that Dhanna Bhakt got tired of dragging it. He started saying that now I am not farming. Now I want the kind of farming where your name is. I want that farming in which you exist. I want that farming which always yields a crop.” God said, “Dhanna, why are you so worried? You will get a servant, you keep singing hymns. That Supreme Being, the Lord of the three worlds, kept working as a servant at Dhanna Jat’s place until the end, grazing cattle and doing all the work.
Ek Ghadi Aadhi Ghadi Aadhi Mein Puni Aadh,
Even a moment, half a moment, or even half of that,
Tulsi Sangat Saath Ki Harihin Koti Aparaadh
If spent in the company of saints, can wash away countless sins
Out of the twenty-four hours, we must certainly dedicate the twenty-fourth part to that Supreme Being.
How generous is this allowance. Oh human, if you are extremely busy, if you are troubled by materialism, if you have formed too many relationships, then give me just one hour, which means 24 minutes. And if you are still too troubled, give me 12 minutes. Or give me 6 minutes. Out of the 24 hours, give me just 6 minutes. If you can give more time, it is very good, but give some time to the Lord, spend time in the company of the holy men. God says that He will forgive your sins in this much time.
The question arises, when millions of sins are erased daily, why don’t we become sin-free after listening to satsang for so many days? For two to three years, we have been listening to satsang in this mountain. Then why don’t we become sin-free? Why do diseases afflict us? Our efforts are so great that we steal a plow, and donate a needle. We climb up on the roof and look to see from where the airplane will come.
We stole 100 kilograms and donated a needle, then climbed up on the roof to see if God would send an airplane for us. From where will the airplane come, tell me? The meaning is that we have committed countless sins, and it will take time for them to be dealt with.
Dear ones! Now our daily message. Our daily message is always for humanity.
Ek Saathe Sab Sadhe,
By focusing on one, everything is attained,
Sab Saathe Sab Jaye,
Jo Seenche Tu Mool Ko,
To Phool Phale Aghaay
By chasing everything, all is lost
If you water the root,
The flowers and fruits will flourish abundantly
If we do not only water the branches and leaves of a tree but also pour nectar, yet if termites inflict the root, the tree cannot remain green. If we fully water the root, the branches will automatically turn green. Fruits will also appear. So, the root of the tree is supreme. Just as the root is the principal part of the tree, in all life forms, human life is supreme. This is the root. As long as termites infest the root, if we keep cutting the root, if we keep digging the roots, my dear ones, the entire upper part will start to dry automatically. The branches will dry, the leaves will dry, and the whole tree will perish.
If we do not protect humanity in human life and perform many rituals, give many donations, perform many sacrifices, and engage in constant remembrance, contemplation, meditation, but then criticize or disparage any person, scripture, Vedas, or Puranas, or speak ill of any sister or daughter, then my dear ones! The water you poured throughout the day is of no use. If the root is cut, the tree will dry up.
Yajna, Daan, Punya Ka Phal To Tabhi Hai Jab Yah Maanav Apni Hi Jayega
The fruits of yajna (sacrifice), charity, and merit are realized
only when this human sheds his ego (self-identity)
Maintain humanity. Criticizing others is just as blameworthy as one person killing another. Killing is just one sin, a murderer. There is nothing more than that. But we who engage in criticism day and night, this is a much heavier sin. It is more than a human murder. In this context, there is a historical account.
There was a king. This king was very kind, religiously inclined. He was endowed with knowledge and wisdom. He would daily worship God, perform rituals, make donations, and engage in the welfare of others. While doing this, a lot of the king’s life passed. Only two or three days of life were left. God began to think that I should test my devotee to see if he is sincere. On the first day, the king observed the fast of Ekadashi, on the second day, coincidentally, it was Vaman Dwadashi. On the third day, the occasion of Mahadev’s appearance came, on the fourth day, it was Chaturdashi. On the fifth day, it was Purnima. The king spent five days subsisting only on Tulsi’s holy water. On Purnima, after worshiping God, listening to the story, when he sat down to eat, suddenly the bell rang on the speaker because he had installed bells for petitioners everywhere. In the sleeping chamber, in the royal chamber, in the dining room, everywhere, there was a bell. As soon as the bell rang, the morsel in the king’s hand stopped mid-air. He told the servant to ask the petitioner what his request was. The servant immediately met the petitioner and returned to say, Maharaj! The petitioner is asking for food. Send him food immediately, we will eat later, the king said. The servant took the food and left. But the guest said that I am not such a fallen beggar that I will take alms from a servant’s hand. I will take alms from the king’s hand, tell him so. The king had the servant say.
That I break my fast by taking 5 morsels of food because now I have sat down. Getting up now is a fault. Therefore, I am in a religious dilemma. Tell the guest to wait for a few minutes. But the guest said, “Tell the king that I do not have time to wait. I am not the kind of beggar who will stand at your door for 6 hours. If you want to give, give, otherwise, I will see the next house.” The king, getting angry, said that if he is in such a hurry, do not let him go from the door and weigh him 1¼ seers of horse dung. It is a rule that hunger brings more anger. He was hungry for 5 days. That guest lovingly ate the 1¼ seers of dung, and when the king came out after eating, the saint said, “King! You gave me very delicious food because a guest should feel joy according to the food given by the donor. But now give me some water too.” The king was very ashamed. He gave him water. The king died after a few days.
After the king’s death, God himself took him on a tour of Vaikunth Lok. “Look, king! You donated diamonds, here are heaps of diamonds. You donated pearls, here are mountains of pearls. You donated gold, here are houses made of gold. You donated cows, see these cows tied up, their milk flowing on its own. You donated grains, here are the granaries full of grains. You did good for others, and for your benefit, millions of people are standing in Vaikunth to serve you. You did the service yourself. Millions of people are standing to serve you. Gods are standing to serve you.” Finally, they took him to a bowl. That bowl was filled with horse dung. They said, “You also have to eat this dung.” The king said, “Lord! I had given it. Do I have to eat this?”
How did the game happen? Then he said, “King! You gave only counted pearls. How did these heaps get here? Oh, I’m giving back a thousand times of one of your items, so there’s a thousand times dung too. It’s not just that one sin is one times, and virtue is a hundred times. Virtue is 100 times, so sin is also 100 times. This is my rule here. You have to eat this too, whether you eat it first, in the middle, or at the end. You have to eat it.”
That king had a lot of virtues. He was a wise king. From childhood to his dying breath, he only got angry once. The king said, “O Lord! Is there any solution for this?” The Lord said, “Yes, yes, there is a solution.”
Lovers! This is not a story. This is heard from the Puranas, created by Vyas Ji. This game was of two-four minutes. The king was given life. The king came back to life. But before coming back to life, the Lord told the king, “O king! There is a girl, she is unmarried. You are given enough time to perform her wedding rituals. Marry her and take her to a secluded room, do not consider her as a girl, consider her as my form. By seeing my form in her, worship her morning and evening, and eat food once. Sleep on the ground. This task is given to you.” The king said, “Lord! How long should I worship?” The Lord said, “For ten to twelve days. After that, marry her off.” The king said, “Where should I find her match?” The Lord said, “This is my job, not yours.” In this way, he came to life, took the girl to a room and started worshiping her as Lakshmi Narayan. Now the village started discussing, “Oh, the king, he was a righteous man, but after being revived, he became useless, lazy, adulterous, and unrighteous. Moreover, he took his young daughter into a room. As I told you, you told someone else, and slowly this story spread throughout the kingdom. Just as people used to talk, similarly, the dung was noted against their names. In this way, a quarter and a half of dung were distributed to everyone. In the end, 2½ seers remained. A washerwoman was running at high speed, and she called out from afar. The washerman said, “Yes, yes, what is the matter?” She said, “Did you hear anything?” The washerman said, “What is it?” She said, “The king has gone mad, he is staying with his daughter.” The washerman said, “Oh fool, you gave me 1¼ seers of dung as well.” After the girl’s marriage, the king died. When he saw the dung heap, he ate it all. 1¼ seers of dung were lying in a corner. The Lord said, “King! This was actually given to me. I ate it at your door lovingly. You have to eat this and drink water as well.”
My dear ones! Now see the result of slander, how heavy it is. Because of slander, the king’s sin spread everywhere.
When you eat the food of your home, earned by your hard work, living among the poor and rich, why should we slander others? In our materialism, the environment of slander has spread more, because my home is within four walls. I am praying to the lovers who live within these walls that slander occurs here every day. Slander is a great sin. Slander of whom? The sins of others you are taking upon yourself and giving your virtues to them. Oh, when you earn and eat, worship God, listen to spiritual discourses, then never indulge in slander.
I did not bring any irrelevant questions, I started with human life. The root of the tree inside is one, but when you dig it, you will find thousands of branches. There are small fibers. If you cut the fibers with a knife, the tree will start to wither. Similarly, human life is the root—whoever waters the root will bloom and bear fruit. Charity, virtues, religion, sacrifices, etc. are its branches. Keep them strong as well. If you gnaw at the roots, criticize the Vedas, criticize the scriptures, criticize the Lord, criticize the devotional songs, then the roots will keep getting cut; because criticism cuts the roots. Remembering strengthens the trunk. Fertilizers and seeds will work only if the trunk of the tree is strong, the roots are strong. Our root is human life.
Bin Tan Ved Bhajan Nahin Barna
Without the body, neither the Vedas can be studied nor can bhajan (devotional singing) be performed
The Vedas say that without the body, there is no chanting. And if we make the body dirty with slanders, lust, anger, or other inauspicious actions, then my dear ones! That name will also become dirty. The sacrifice will also become dirty. The charity will also become dirty. Gold does not get dirty, but if you put it in mud, it will become dirty, though not stained. My dear ones! The name becomes dirty like this: as Ravana recognized the glory of Ram, chanted his name, and attained the kingdom. But his duties through the body became dirty. The one he worshipped, he says—where is Ram? I will kill him? How dirty
Did it not happen? Kumbhakarna performed penance for Shiva, penance for Rama, performed intensely. But Kumbhakarna, wielding a sword, would say, “Where is Rama? I will kill him.” He took the name, did penance, but that name became dirty. It became dirty because the sensory and motor organs inside his body became polluted; it dried up the trunk. The roots did not benefit at all.
My dear ones! Our human life is not ordinary. I keep saying repeatedly that if we cut the humanitarian roots within human life, the trunk will not remain as it is, it will dry up. That means it will die. Then it is uncertain whether it will grow or not. So let us not waste this human life meaninglessly and maintain its daily activities, daily activity means—food and behavior; if our food is not appropriate, even if we take the name of the Lord a million times, it becomes useless. If our food is not appropriate, if our behavior is not appropriate, even if we take the name of God a million times, it will all be in vain.
Svaan Ke Gal Janjeer Baandhyo,
A chain is tied around the dog’s neck,
Svaan Phir Bhi Svaan Hai
Yet, the dog remains a dog
Put a chain of diamonds and pearls around the dog’s neck, but it remains a dog, it does not become a lion. Similarly, the name of the Lord is certainly a chain of diamonds and pearls, but if we do not change our actions and behavior, we will remain like dogs. Therefore, both food and behavior are essential, the behavior should be beautiful, the food should be good, pure, and sattvic. Food and behavior are the foundation of our life. They are what nurture the roots. To maintain these roots because, food is life. If we consume contaminated food, if we eat food in anger, like fish, meat, etc.; if we start consuming such food or taking intoxicants, drinking alcohol, etc., our roots will be destroyed. Humanity will end, no matter how much we take the name of the Lord; but that name will also become tainted. The effect of the name will also be adverse, just as it was adverse for Ravana. He took the name, but went in the wrong direction. We should move in the right direction, and not spoil humanity.
I taught not to slander with food and behavior. We should never slander, even by mistake. The biggest harm that slander does is that the person who is slandered remains clean and pure, but the slanderer takes on their sins. This message of humanity was conveyed to you.
We have spoken about humanity many times before. If my dear ones have forgotten due to some mistakes, I cannot say. Otherwise, I will say that for the ashram people, it has been two years of constant effort. They remained the same, like putting 100 weight units on a dog’s tail and lifting the stone; the tail will remain crooked as it was. It doesn’t change. Anyway, we don’t abandon practice. If no one reforms, we keep improving, it doesn’t matter. Our duty is to convey the message of humanity to you. Accepting or not accepting it is up to you. A teacher can only teach in school, can repeat the lesson, can explain it by writing on a slateboard. If the child learns forward, then it is a matter of will. What can anyone do about it?
From today, let us resolve that we will take pure food, maintain purity in our diet. Our speech will not be harsh, it will not be intense, and there will be no anger. Our language will be sweet, we will consume sattvic food, and we will not slander anyone.
Beloved ones! The essence or reality of human life is the work you are currently engaged in. The name of selflessness, the chanting of selflessness, the praise of selflessness – this is the supreme essence of the Kali Yuga, the essential element. The work that is in harmony with the era is the supreme essence. In this Kali Yuga, the greatness of God’s name, his chanting, his praise is the supreme essence, the essence of satsang, the essence of the Vedas, the essence of the Smritis, and the essence of the Puranas.
Kaliyug Keval Naam Aadhar,
In Kaliyuga, the only support is the Divine Name,
Kalau Keshav Keertanaat
In this age, salvation comes through singing the glories of Keshava (Lord Krishna)
In Kali Yuga, chanting the name of Lord Keśava leads to liberation, meaning fear is dispelled. Chanting Hari’s name leads to liberation. This is the true deed of man, the true karma, for which man has come here. Wealth, houses, possessions were in hell, they were there too, already made and found in hell, and if in heaven, beautiful, resplendent houses would have been found. And if one goes to the divine realms, houses will certainly be found. Even in jail, one gets a cell. Why worry day and night for it, tell me this. Baba Nanakdevji says –
Ek Bhakt Bhagwaan,
A devotee and the Lord are one,
Jini Praani Ke Naahin Man, Jaise Sookar Svaan,
Nanak Maanhoon Taahi Tan
A person without devotion in the heart is like a pig or a dog,
O Nanak, consider only that body to be worthy which has devotion
That man’s body is worse than pigs and dogs. They can appeal saying, O Lord! What can we do, you gave us such a birth. Made us a donkey, what can we do. In that situation, what is the point of appealing? One should surrender oneself completely.
We might also do this but after receiving a human body, we cannot even appeal.
Kaalaahīn Karmahīn Ishwarahīn Mithya Dosh Lagaay
One who is devoid of time (discipline), action (effort), and God,
Falsely blames others for their misfortunes
We will go there and make false excuses saying, “Lord! We didn’t have time, forgive us. We were born in such poor homes that we worked and died. If we had more money, we would have been busy managing it. Sometimes income tax officials, sometimes sales tax officials, sometimes thieves, sometimes ruffians, sometimes goons kept coming to us; in guarding them, we died. We didn’t have time, it was not written in our destiny. O Lord! What can we do? You did not guide us towards yourself, and gave us more and more troubles.” These are all false accusations, false excuses, and your appeal will be dismissed, and so will mine. Yamaraj! While working in the ashram, it gets very late. Even last night we worked till 1 AM. But if we make these accusations, they will not be accepted. The appeal will be dismissed. After getting a human body, if one does not perform God’s devotion, good deeds, good inspiration, and good intelligence, then the appeal cannot be made. What can be done now? The human body is given only for God’s devotion, for satsang, for performing good deeds, and for maintaining humanity.
You who are sitting in the dense forest, for the work you have come, this is real humanity. It makes human life meaningful. This pleases God, makes the deities envious that if we were also human, we would listen to satsang, we would also be in the refuge of the guru, say Waheguru, say Jai Satguru Dev. Now what can we do? Now we are like this.
Fallen into luxury (sensual pleasures) that they can’t even go. The gods are envious of you people. Goddess Adi Devi, Shri Devi, Lakshmi Devi, Shri Man Narayan are very pleased. Mother Shri Devi is even more pleased to see how good deeds my children are doing by going to the earth. Do you think God is not watching you? Every moment’s photography is going there. Every minute’s waves are going. He is the controller of the entire universe, omnipresent. He is present in every atom and particle. He is also in the underworld. He keeps taking photos of the underworld too. Isn’t our photography happening? It certainly is. Mother Lakshmi is very pleased to see that my devotee or my son or my part is listening to the satsang. He is doing such good work. She forgets what he has suffered before. Our true karma is what we are doing. Here, whether we get knowledge or not, there is no worry. Oh, we have come to him. The attendance is complete. Coming here gives us the benefit that we should get. Whether we get the words of Vedanta, whether we get the words of scriptures or not, but we have come for you. We have come to this ashram in your name.
In this materialism, no one has even a minute’s time, I have heard this from many. Tell me, in today’s age, there is no time to die. Even from that time, you have taken out time and come. Won’t he mark our attendance? Won’t he take our photography? Won’t today be a noteworthy day for us? Whatever we have done, we have done, but we have also done this. Our witnesses are these only. Our true witnesses are only two – “Given given will walk with you.” What is taken? The name of God. And what is given? Bread from the hand.
Piece, refreshments, or anything, did car service. And took the name of the Lord. These two are your true witnesses. They will never deny. Wherever you go, they will go with you. The relationships of the world, parents, brothers, sisters, etc., surely exist, I do not deny them. But these relationships last only until this body lasts. Then no relative accompanies, no one goes to give testimony.
What is a true relationship? – Religion and karma. What you are doing is called karma. Karma is not a name for deceit. There are countless deceits in the world, they are not karma. True karma is what you are doing. It is called karma that is done for the Lord, for humanity, for the nourishment of the soul, that is called karma.
What is religion? – “Dharayate dhiyate sa eva dharmah.” “There is no religion like doing good to others, brothers. The work you are doing for others is religion. Here you are carrying soil, breaking stones, engaged in car service, will your children stay here? Our children will not stay here, they will only come. Millions and crores of other children will also come here. So the work being done for the benefit of others is the highest religion. Came for God, took His name, this is karma. Came on foot, came in buses, hung in trucks. Not everyone has their own means. What you came here for is true karma. So karma and religion will be your witnesses. They will seal it. Religion will say that I testify that he has done car service for the benefit of others. Karma says that he went to the congregation for you, for humanity. We testify to this. What else is there to do in this?
You know. If you find a strong witness, my dear ones! All cases end.
Your coming here is very beneficial. Thank you, thank you again and again, thanks to your mothers, thanks to your fathers, who gave birth to you on this earth, because “Mother gives birth to devotees, donors, or heroes.” Each one of you sitting here has three qualities. What could be more devotion than this? You have continuously served here day and night, done car service, done financial service. You are donors too. One who gives a crore is not the only donor. You are also donors, one who gives even a penny is also a donor. Whoever gives is a donor. Whether they give a crore, a rupee, or a penny. The scriptures have not written that only the one who gives crores of rupees is a donor. What has been given is not written. Something has been given, feelings have been given, devotion has been given, car service has been given, but given. Heroes are called strong. Here the sisters and daughters have done car service by climbing to the second floor. Oh, one who beats neighbors, is he a hero? One who makes the neighborhood dance with the power of strength, is he a hero? Absolutely not, he is one who commits misdeeds with others. One who uses all their strength for good deeds is a hero. I see all three qualities in you. I am not praising, I am seeing, that is why I am saying. You are strong in all three ways. The mother has given birth to donors, devotees, and heroes. Therefore, I thank you again and again. You are blessed, and the next three generations and the previous three generations are also blessed.
God: Just by the name of Shrimannarayana, by mere devotion to Him, by accepting Him, salvation is attained. Not by studying, not by performing sacrifices. What religion did the elephant observe? Which Vedas did he read? Which Smritis did he study? He read nothing, he only called out in distress – Narayan! He could only say ‘Nara’. The elephant was not allowed to speak fully, and he was saved. Ajamil’s salvation was done by just one word. Note this special point, he was not allowed to complete the word. Draupadi was also not allowed to speak fully. Ajamil only said ‘Naraya’ and God appeared. He comes at even half a word. How great is the glory of God! We have come to serve Him. We have come to remember His name. We have heard His name with our ears, spoken it with our mouths, and danced with joy. Will these not be valid witnesses? These are strong witnesses. They will negate any minor testimonies. One strong witness is enough.
Summary
This discourse emphasizes the impermanence of materialism and the ultimate importance of spiritual pursuit. While worldly possessions and pleasures seem appealing, they bring worries, fears, and suffering. True wealth lies in the remembrance of the Supreme Being, whose name is likened to a philosopher’s stone capable of transforming the soul. The human body, gifted by divine grace, is the highest opportunity for liberation, but one must use it wisely. At the end of life, each soul will be asked what it has brought for the Supreme, and only spiritual deeds will hold value. Detachment from ego, pride, and material entanglements is essential, as all worldly belongings, status, and relationships are temporary.
The discourse further underscores that remembrance (smarana), service (seva), and truth (satya) are the pillars of human life. Material wealth and power are fleeting, and slander, greed, and arrogance lead to spiritual downfall. Saints and scriptures warn that humanity’s true duty is devotion and surrender to the Lord. Just as a tree thrives when its roots are nourished, a person must cultivate righteousness and eliminate negative tendencies. Through sincere prayer, selfless service, and the constant chanting of the Lord’s name, one can transcend worldly illusions and attain eternal bliss.
