Human Goal

Dear ones!

The attributes of the Supreme Being and His names and actions are numerous. Here, some distinctions and biases have arisen in our minds. I am a devotee of Ram, I am a devotee of Krishna, I am a devotee of Shiva, I am a devotee of Devi. Such confusions have entered our minds. The saints have accepted the Supreme Being as one. Baba Nanak Sahib Ji faced the same doubt that we have. Sitting sadly and contemplating deeply, he wondered what to do, which path to follow, which God’s name to remember, and which God’s service to perform. At that moment, his true Guru said, “Nanak! Why are you worried? What has happened? I know that confusion has arisen in your mind. Distinctions have arisen.”

Ram Rama Ram Rama Ram Rama Ram Rama ur dhariyo,
Govind Keshav Madan Gopal ek kshan na visariyo

Chant and hold in your heart the name of Rama repeatedly,
Do not forget, even for a moment, Govind, Keshav, Madan, Gopal (all names of Lord Krishna)

He Nanak! Tu Ram bhaj, Krishna bhaj, Govind bhaj,
Madhav bhaj, Mukund bhaj, ek kshan bhi barbaad mat kar,
Nanak Dev Ji bole, Guru Maharaj!
Mere man ka bhay nahin nikla, bhram, nahin nikla,
To Guru Maharaj kahte hain –
Sarve ras karta bhokta ek Narayan

O Nanak! Chant the name of Rama, Krishna, and Govind,
Chant the name of Madhav, Mukund, and do not waste even a moment,
Nanak Dev Ji said, “O Guru Maharaj!
The fear in my mind has not gone, the confusion has not been removed,
Then the Guru Maharaj said:
The creator and enjoyer of all rasas (essences) is one Narayan

O Nanak! The creator and enjoyer of all essences is one Narayana, because “Just as water falls from the sky and reaches the ocean.” Nanak, water falls from the sky and forms rivers and streams. These rivers have numerous names. There are eighteen thousand pilgrimage rivers, not few. In our India, there are eighteen thousand rivers, small and large. Eighteen are prominent among them: Ganga, Sindhu, Saraswati, Yamuna, Godavari, Gandaki, Narmada, Kaveri, Saryu, etc., etc. These eighteen are principal. But the flow of all these rivers is towards the ocean. After merging into the ocean, they lose their individual existence and become the ocean itself. Therefore, O Nanak! Remember any attribute name, any deed name.

That Supreme Being is one. Be familiar with the numerous forms. Ram and Krishna are not different. Ram does not have a separate realm, Krishna does not have a separate realm. Lord Ram was also given by the self-born Manu and Shatarupa that same Narayana because they requested, ‘I want a son like you.’ I am Just as I am, there is no one else. Lord Krishna, pleased by the penance of Yashoda, Vasudeva, and Devaki, granted the boon that I will come to your house – taking a human incarnation. He was not born from a womb, he incarnated. Therefore, here even a trace of discrimination does not remain. That Supreme Being is the doer and enjoyer, one and the same, He is Narayana. Ultimately, all is Narayana. When the ages come to an end – the four ages are destroyed. Neither Satya Yuga remains, nor Treta, nor Dvapara, nor Kali Yuga remains. When the four ages end in dissolution, once again that Supreme Reality, the blissful Lord Hari Narayana, manifests this world anew. In the fundamental essence, it is He alone. Remembering Him brings all kinds of benefits, all kinds of happiness, and all kinds of peace.

We have assumed that the devotee of God remains unhappy, but it is not so. How can it be so? A devotee of God is always happy, everywhere. If we say that a devotee of God is happy, then why do these holy men go from house to house begging? Why are they devoid of blessings? Why are they impoverished? There are two reasons for this. Either the saint has not accepted the Supreme Being at all, and if he has accepted, then for you and us…

For the welfare of the world, he goes door to door begging for alms. These good people will not give otherwise, but if they give two rotis to Baba Ji, I will record their merit of two rotis. Therefore, for the welfare of the world, he remains nothing within himself. If you remain self-contained, why would Baba Ji come to your house to beg for alms? They are not poor; they are fully wealthy. In our and your view, they are poor because we have valued only money, while the existence of money is limited to this world only; it does not exist beyond this. This currency will not work beyond. If you go to America, dollars will be used there. A 500-rupee note here will be torn and thrown away as counterfeit. Because the currency of that land is the remembrance, devotion, and service of the Supreme Being. But our intellect remains limited to thinking that wealth is everything.

We have considered fame and name in the world as everything, while you and I both know that we cannot take these with us. All the buildings, houses, cars, and horses are limited to this world only. Do not think that you should not do business or trade. I do not say this. But our birth is not for this alone. The reason for our birth is something else. It is to improve that realm. This is our primary human goal, our duty.

In the name of the Supreme Being, my dear ones, everything exists because He is the lord of life, the lord of devotion, the lord of illusion, the lord of the animate and inanimate. Consider this. Everyone has the same lord, there are no different lords. When everyone has the same lord, whatever you ask from Him, He will give it to you. Whatever you ask, the Lord will grant you the same. Ask for illusion, ask for the body, ask for devotion, it depends on what you ask. The saints have realized that these worldly things will not last if asked for. They will not only leave on their own, but will also cause sorrow, defame, and trouble. At the time of death, only the memory of these things will remain. Therefore, the saints have understood this. After understanding, they start chanting, “My only Lord is Giridhar Gopal, there is no other.” And whatever they ask from the Lord, they receive the same.

We repeatedly set our goal, my dear ones, that the Supreme Being is everything. Guru Maharaj is omniscient. He knows every heart. You set such a goal repeatedly. But after two days, you see that the goal is broken. When the goal is broken, the electric power that is about to come stops. The goal is called a goal only when, once set, it does not break and remains.

If it is repeatedly formed and then breaks down, it is not a true goal. The goal is never reached. Thus, you all seem to me to be wandering away from the goal repeatedly. I consider that it is winter; this body begins to shiver by itself. At eleven or twelve at night, sisters and daughters work upstairs, while I am downstairs. So I interpret this as being below; hence, I shiver and these people have gone far above me, so why would they shiver!

Continuous service is going on through you people. But there is a difference between a goal and service, my dear ones. I have always seen you people wandering away from the goal. When I sit within myself, in meditation, I see my dear ones wandering away from the goal. After wandering away from the goal, all skills start to diminish. The purpose of a clock is to run. When the clock deviates from running, or stops from its goal, people say that the clock is broken. The clock will then only show the wrong time. In other words, it disrupts the life of people, waking those who rise at four o’clock at one in the night, because it is broken, its purpose is gone. I see you all seldom staying focused on the goal.

My dear ones! Only those who stick to their goal achieve it. This is not a new concept; from the era of Satya Yuga to today, it has always been that those who set a goal achieve it. It takes time or may happen sooner, but it happens. Why doesn’t a human ponder deeply over the nature of actions? In this life, we have three types of actions: Kriyaman Karma (current actions), Sanchit Karma (accumulated actions), and Prarabdha Karma (destined actions).

Kriyaman Karma is what we do daily – work hard in the morning, eat in the evening, and then sleep with legs stretched out. These are Kriyaman Karma. For example, working for the government for 30 days and getting paid on the 30th day is Kriyaman Karma. And if we save a little from it, it becomes Sanchit Karma. There are two worlds – the spiritual world and the material world. Whether we accumulate material wealth or spiritual merit, that accumulation is called Sanchit Karma. If we deposit part of our salary, whether it is 100 rupees, 200 rupees, 500 rupees, or 1000 rupees, into the bank, it becomes our accumulated wealth. Similarly, in the spiritual world, Sanchit Karma is the actions we perform and then forget about.

What is Kriyaman Karma? Sometimes we take an advance from our office. Taking an advance can be troublesome

It often happens, but we take it. After taking an advance, it has to be repaid, dear ones. In the spiritual world too, we take advances. “O Mother with true light, fulfill this particular task for me, and I will offer you a coconut, a scarf; I will visit your shrine, perform a ritual for you.” And she gives the advance. First, we are such good people that we forget after taking it. We are very good people, aren’t we? Wise too! Hence, we say that the mother is not watching, she must have forgotten by now. Well, good people also return some of it. After returning, when another need arises, they say, “Mother! I just performed your ritual, kept your vigil, performed your ceremony, and now this misfortune has befallen me.” O good man! Or good woman! You had already taken the benefit earlier, because the fruit of the ritual had been received. The fruit of that vigil, that visit to the shrine, you had already received; now what is the obligation? To maintain goodwill, they do a little something. Like when you go to buy vegetables, the vendor gives you the vegetables by weight and then adds some coriander leaves, and two green chilies. She gives them without asking or upon request. In our Rajasthan, this is called “rukaavan.” Dear sister! We have bought so much from you, wouldn’t she give the extra? She gives it. In Punjab, it’s called “jhoonga” and in Haryana, the same term is “lubhav” because we deviated from our goal. We didn’t remember that we have already taken a lot from the Mother, she has already given us a lot of fruits for our actions, now we need to do something new.

I want to say that in life we should perform such actions that we can forget after doing them. Forget for the sake of society, forget for the family. Deposit some money in materialism and forget it, don’t even remember it, then it will definitely appear in a grand form at the right time. So from the Kriyaman Karma, my dear ones, we should perform some Sanchit Karma too, so that at the right time, those Sanchit Karmas stand before us in an extensive form.

We do perform Sanchit Karma, my dear ones! But we perform Sanchit Karma that we shouldn’t be doing. We do wrong things. If we are asked a million times, Sudarshanacharya! Tell us, did you do this? We say, no. We made an FD (Fixed Deposit) of those wrong actions. Of what? Of suffering! The things we shouldn’t be accumulating, we are accumulating them, and the things we should be accumulating, we are taking them in advance. We are playing the game in reverse.

We set a goal but ended up doing the opposite. Suppose I commit a theft. Even if you ask Sudarshanacharya a thousand times, he will say that he did not do it. Say a thousand times, “Swamiji! No one else was in this room except you.” But I will still say that I didn’t do it. I made a fixed deposit. Of what? Of the theft! That fixed deposit was made. Any action, whether good or bad, my dear ones, its interest will definitely grow. There is no principle that good deeds will increase and bad deeds will decrease. Whatever actions you accumulate, their interest will keep increasing, whether they are good or bad. This is karma’s effect. We do not pay attention to the effects of karma; we only trust the current actions. What we should accumulate, we do not; and what we should not do, we are doing. What is accumulated karma is called fate, that is called destiny. It is nothing else. What we have accumulated, when it brings full benefit, that is called fate or destiny.

So, my dear ones! I want to say that in the new year, create something new. Change the game we have been playing.

We should fix what needs to be done, deposit it, and remove what shouldn’t be fixed— the garbage. What is garbage? In our daily routine, from morning till evening, we at least do one round of prayer beads. Whose beads? If it’s for God, it’s great. But we often recite beads for lies. We speak meaningless lies. We say, “I didn’t say that.” We deposit the lie that we didn’t say it. Don’t deposit it, clarify it. “Oh, what we deposited in the account, give it back to us.” Let’s do this.

My dear ones! Recently, Mehta Ji, the chief sub-editor of Punjab Kesari, asked us a question about how in this materialistic world, attaining God is very difficult, and numerous concerns and obstacles are continuously arising in society. He asked for a simple solution for the welfare of humanity. My dear ones! There can be no better solution than one that requires neither yoga, nor sacrifice, nor charity, nor chanting, nor penance, nor rules, nor restraint. You just need to set a goal. How simple is that! There can’t be an easier solution than this. Do not be aimless. What are we discussing? We have set a goal that we are happy, sad, whatever we are, O Supreme Being, we are yours. O Guru Baba, we are yours. This goal has been set. What discussion remains in this? Once the goal is set, Dharma (righteousness), Artha (wealth), Kama (desires), and Moksha (liberation) will automatically come to you at home. Because once the goal is set. After setting the goal, won’t you achieve it? Any learned lover, whoever wishes, can say this at this moment. It is his home. Achievements come while sitting.

I have said this before, my dear ones! That once a goal is set, nothing is impossible. The impossible remains only until we deviate from our goal. Whether you set a goal for devotion or for worldly enterprises, it is up to you. But once the goal is set, the word achievement becomes inevitable. To date, no principle has been established that achievement doesn’t follow once the goal is set. In the forest, saints set the goal of meeting the Supreme Being, and God has to meet them. Lord Rama had to visit every hut. The Gopis and cowherds set the goal of friendship with Lord Krishna, so did Lord Krishna not go door to door stealing butter? Did he not dance with them in Rasa? Did he not endure beatings? What did he not do? Determine the human goal and set that goal thoughtfully. Thoughtfully means, one that benefits society, aligns with the Vedas, whether it is according to scriptures or the views of saints, set such a goal. In that goal, both the guru and the divine bless you. Suppose we set a goal to harm a hundred people in a day; neither the guru nor the divine will protect us in that. Set a goal where your daily routine and character are pure. That is aligned with the Vedas, and the next path is sacred and pure, and we do not experience any sorrow in this world. Choose such a goal. We are not sticking to the chosen goal, and this non-adherence makes us troubled. Repeated suffering, sorrow, and poverty come our way. These will come even after setting a goal, certainly. Because where will the deeds we have done go? Tell me. They will come to us because every deed, whether good or bad, must be experienced. But by setting a goal, the inauspicious deeds, sufferings, and difficulties will come, yet the strength to endure them will automatically develop within us. Why does this strength develop? Because you have set a goal, and the one whose goal you have set will surely bless you. Thus, the strength to endure comes. They do not remain troubled by it. Their next path becomes clear and pure.

Regarding the analysis of actions, my dear ones! Let us accept that we are unable to fully adhere to our duties and righteous deeds. Therefore, perform as many good deeds as possible because it is our duty, so keep doing them. However, a goal-less person, no matter how much they work, does not reap the benefits; ultimately, they only get sorrow. Actions performed with a goal always bring happiness. Ultimately, they result in victory.

Arjuna made Lord Krishna his goal. He set this goal from childhood. Once, both Duryodhana and Arjuna went to seek help from the Lord. The Lord opened his eyes – he does not sleep, it was his play; he removed the curtain and glanced at both. First, he saw Arjuna. He asked, “Arjuna, how come you are here?” Arjuna replied, “I have come to seek your help in the battlefield.” Then he asked Duryodhana, “How did you come here?” He said, “I have also come to seek your help.” Lord Krishna said, “There are two choices. One: I am alone and weaponless. The other: My Narayani army of ten thousand soldiers, as strong and powerful as I am, fully armed. Both are before you. I will remain weaponless and will not take up arms, and my army is fully armed and just as powerful as I am. Now you have to decide what.

So, here we are discussing goals, my dear ones! Duryodhana chose ten thousand soldiers. He thought, what will I do with an unarmed Krishna? Maybe he has some strength. But what strength? He has stolen butter, been beaten everywhere, fled the battlefield many times. If he had strength, why would he leave the battlefield? And he won’t even take weapons, so should I worship him? I need the Narayani army for the battle. Krishna said, fine. Duryodhana! This ten thousand army is yours. Then he asked, Arjuna! What do you want? Arjuna said, I have nothing to do with the army, I need you. Oh, good man! I won’t lift weapons. Arjuna said, when did I say you should lift weapons? I will lift the weapons. Arjuna said, I will never ask you to lift weapons. Will you stay with me? He said, yes. Both had set their goals. The goal of the army was worldly, materialistic pleasures, and Arjuna’s goal was that I need my world protector. I need the world’s warrior. He set such a goal. In that goal, Arjuna faced sorrows through actions, he got wounds daily, arrows hit him. He analyzed his actions. All tasks were done. His two sons were also killed. The wounds were deep. But he did not leave his goal. Oh, now you leave me, what will I do, I am useless. Arjuna said, even if I lose everything, I cannot leave you. He remained steadfast in his goal. After being steadfast—

Where there is Krishna, the master of yoga, and Arjuna, the wielder of the bow, there indeed are prosperity, victory, abundant wealth, and sound morality, according to my opinion.

These three words were spoken. Policy spoke, scripture spoke, and now my own intellect speaks, Neetimattimama. My own intellect says this. And the verse of policy also states that steadfastness in goal always leads to victory; policy also says the same. The knowledge of every scripture also states that aimlessness has no existence, and those who remain steadfast in their goal always achieve victory.

My dear ones! Repeatedly, in any way, it can be said that there is a deficiency in your goals. What I want to give you, you are not able to receive, because you become detached from your goal. You waver from your goal, and those who have set a goal, my dear ones, I believe or I have such confidence that my master is not a fraud, my master is not deceitful. My master is not poor, my master is not weak. My master is very powerful, very strong. He is immensely powerful. No one can stand before him. And he is generous in giving.

But we are not being generous in taking because our faith is not stable. A single goal has not been set. I call my Baba, whom I call by many names – my Baba, my master, my mother. I say this because he is my everything – my parents. Therefore, I call him mother too, and when needed, I call him father. When more need arises, I don’t hesitate to flatter and call him Baba, meaning the father of fathers. He is my Baba, my mother, my father, he is my everything. I take a vow in this new year, in front of my everything. My dear ones! Any lover who becomes steadfast in faith, who makes his faith strong, and sets one goal, it is the duty of that Baba’s servant, that master’s servant to ensure he reaches that goal; I am his servant, he is my master. A master may forget, for masters are big people; but servants do not forget. Master sir! You had said this thing. He says, yes, yes, I had said it. If I said it, then do it!

My dear ones! In this new year, let us make one new thing. Make the goal permanent. By making the goal permanent, I do not mean that you must accept me alone, I do not say this; I also do not say that you must accept only Ram.

I don’t say to worship Krishna. A goal is defined as staying firm in one place. Wandering here and there is not a goal, it is called wandering, and my dear ones! In wandering, collision is certain. Naturally, wherever you wander, there will be collisions. When a person sets a goal and stays firm in one place, peace of mind is achieved, and there is attainment upon attainment. Then everything is achieved while sitting at home.

I have said many times that in our village, long ago, people used to come with boxes to show tricks. In those days, they used to take a handful of grain. Near our village, there is a village, where there were jugglers from Anangpura. We were also small, and we used to take grains from our mother. He would rotate it from above and keep saying, “See the whole world while sitting at home. See the Qutub Minar of Delhi, see the Meena Bazaar of Bombay, see the Maratha hero Shivaji, see Maharana Pratap, see Baba Nanak Sahib, see Tulsidas, and finally, he would say, see the washerwoman of twelve minds. Throw money, see the spectacle.” It means that washing the filth of the world will tire you out. You will get tired, I will get tired. The world will get tired. Fatigue will set in, washing the dirt repeatedly. Look at a washerman. His own clothes are without press, they are always clean. And he washes the clothes of the whole world, presses them, and wraps them in paper. In the same way, we will get tired of setting worldly goals. By washing away the world’s filth through the effects of worldly actions, we will become dirty and die. So, sitting at home, you will see the whole world, my dear ones! When one goal is set. And after that goal is set, for you people, in this new year 1998, this servant of that master promises you, or makes a vow, or writes an agreement in English. And what this servant says with his tongue is more than what is written. Written words can be erased, but words spoken from the mouth remain forever immortal. So, my dear ones! In the new year, may you have great prosperity. Faith is in you people, belief is in you people, this is certain. If there is no faith, why come to this place? If there is no belief, why come in the freezing cold? Every day in the circumambulation, I see the line never breaks. This is what they keep saying, “Hail Guru Baba, Hail Siddhadata,” such praises continue. So, there is belief. There is faith. Faith, belief, and service – service is also supreme service.

Where you are sitting, my dear ones! This place was built by you people in just four days, only this construction is of four days! How can I accept that you people do not have faith; how can I accept that you people do not have belief; how can I accept that you are behind in service. Such a large construction was completed in four days, and this body, this servant of Baba, does not even realize that it is done and what the expense was, even this is not known. From this, it is certain that your love for this place is unbreakable. There is unbreakable belief in this place, unbreakable faith in this place, but you waver from the goal. The fool’s clock shakes. Sometimes it shows twelve-thirty, sometimes just one, and sometimes it shows eleven. Due to this, we become a little ahead or behind in our programs or achievements. When everything is available to you, the clock is available to you, it is a good clock. The clock means this body clock. It is a good clock. You are doing good work. My dear ones! I am not inciting you; this is the truth. The form of this palace, this place of God is called a palace, a temple, a gurudwara, a mosque, a church, everything is its name, and this one you see, it is of ten months. Oh brother! Although it has been thirteen months, in three months you have done more and more work. Out of that, we will add only ten months. This is your miracle. This is the miracle of your service.

Strength, the strength of the body, the strength of material wealth. What do I have, what does Baba Ji have? All these things are present with you, but do not deviate from the goal.

Deviating from the goal reduces that faith, that emotion, that devotion, that love, everything diminishes, whether the watch is made of gold and embedded with precious diamonds. But when the balance of the watch gets disturbed, whether it is a watch worth crores of rupees, it starts giving the wrong time. A watch is for time, not for gold. Not for diamonds. Whether the watch is worth two rupees or two crores, its value is only for time. If a twenty-rupee watch gives the correct time, it is a very good watch. Once I asked Govind (a disciple’s name), you have become such a big set, but you wear a fifty-rupee watch. He said, look Guruji! If a watch worth crores does not give the correct time, what is the use of it? This watch gives the correct time and there is no worry about it, whether it breaks, gets stolen, no concern. A true Sindhi businessman. So my dear ones! The meaning of saying is that whether you are a billionaire, a trillionaire, a multi-millionaire, the owner of the entire nation, or you are middle class and whether you eat simple meals or luxurious ones, if your goal is noble, it is like a watch worth crores of rupees to me. That is like a diamond and Rolex watch to me.

Do not waver from your goal. When you waver from your goal, the balance system of the watch becomes off. When the system of the harmonium is disturbed, it starts producing incorrect notes. Do not let the balance be disturbed. Otherwise, with my auspicious wishes and blessings, I have already told you that I make an agreement, I make a vow, and I cannot make this vow (agreement) with this physical body. The physical body itself is difficult to manage. Sometimes it gets a headache, sometimes a stomach ache, sometimes a cold, sometimes flu. I myself suffer from this. But there is someone else who manages this body, who pervades every atom, every particle of the universe. My dear ones! This is not an exaggeration or self-praise. You must have seen by now that the one speaking in front of you is present in every atom, every particle. That is why he can present the matter of every corner of the world, of every moment, in a second before you, but the one seeing it is not me, it is someone else. This is not Sudarshanacharya. Sudarshanacharya is to say there is a box of that person. He resides in that box. A matchbox has a box. It does not have the power to ignite by itself; it needs a matchstick for friction to create power. Similarly, the body you see in front of you is its shell. But what resides in this shell is omnipresent in every particle. It constantly sees and knows the matters of the past, present, and future. When it decides, it acts. Its mood does not spoil, dear ones! It takes up the pen of justice.

Ram jharokhe baith ke, sab ki mujra let,
Jitni janko chakri, utno hi phal det

Lord Rama sits in the window, observing all and accepting their salutations,
He gives rewards to each according to the service they render

When in a month, I come for duty only for five days, you will deduct twenty-five days’ salary from me. It is a matter of principle. Why should I argue about it? Because I came only for five days. My point is not about coming and going, but about the goal. When we deviate from our goal, the given pen closes. Then, when it will be ready to give again is not certain because it has no personal motive in it. Its motive is not that if you gather in large numbers, it will be happy, absolutely not. If you offer fruits here, it will not be happy, nor if you offer fifty-six types of dishes, it will be happy.

Neither does he need your or our offerings, nor does he need your or our fruits, nor your or our purpose. What he needs is the goal and the sentiment. The goal and sentiment are such that no money is spent. Mehta Ji! There can be no simpler solution than this.

Our area is Rajputi, Mehta Ji. In the Rajputi area, the third part was taken as tax. This system went on for a long time. I saw that one-third was taken as tax. There lived a Rajput in a village. He was a poor farmer – farmers were poor. The poor farmer’s children remained hungry for two-three days. What was being cooked, he tied the bundle of barley in the night. But he tied it so tightly that he couldn’t lift it. He tried repeatedly, but he couldn’t lift it. The Rajput disguised himself and left. He covered his face, picked up the bundle, put it on his head, and went away. The farmer realized that it was the Rajput. Now, in the morning, he started packing his belongings and preparing to leave the village with his children. The Rajput said, “Brother! Why are you leaving? Where are you going? Did someone say something to you? And he said, “Brother! Look, if you need ready-made bread, I will give it to you too.

If someone does something for you, gives you something ready-made, then go to such a state, my brother! Good man, I lifted the bundle of grain myself. I didn’t say anything and won’t say anything either. Then why are you leaving? So, Mehta Ji! What I mean to say is that there is no simpler solution than this. Just set a goal, and there’s no special need to do anything. It doesn’t cost anything to form a sentiment, and it doesn’t cost anything to follow a goal. Achieve whatever you want. There is no simpler solution than this, my dear ones! Siddhdata gives to people with simplicity, listens with simplicity, and speaks with simplicity; he is a Baba, he is the master, he is the one who enjoys all the essence, he is Lakshmi’s consort, he is Radha’s husband, he is Sita’s husband, he is not less at all. There can’t be a simpler solution than this. It doesn’t cost money to set a goal, and it doesn’t cost anything to follow the goal either.

My dear ones! There is a difference between ‘dar’ and ‘darbar.’ ‘Dar’ is personal, for one, like Hanumanji’s dar, Devi Ji’s dar, whatever it is. The name of many is ‘darbar.’ Where there is no count, neither of one, nor of a lakh, nor of a crore, nor of a billion, nor of a trillion. Its name is darbar; dar is singular, and darbar is plural. My dear ones! In front of Shri Siddhdata Ashram, it is written there. It is the darbar. Darbar means the gathering of Goddess Durga, Bhairav, Bhavani, all the accomplished sages, monks, ascetics, yogis; it is the meeting of all, and it is called the darbar. In the meeting of that emperor, everyone sits, and if you do not benefit from here, my dear ones! Then go to the state where you benefit. If you do not benefit from one full meeting, then my dear ones, how can a single dar benefit you? Think about it. The darbar has combined power, mixed strength, and that combined and mixed strength is present here.

In my view, many devotees are sitting here, and they are in hundreds, who have experienced this dar. The Goddess is also here, Bhairav is also here, Hanuman Ji is also here, Siddha is also here, and Param Siddha is also here. Many individuals who are sitting here have experienced this once, twice, or fifty times. This darbar demands only this, that, O human! You are faithful, you are also devoted, but your goal is not yet formed. Until the complete rituals, legally, are done, the adopted son does not become the heir of the property. He remains only a servant. What is the heir of the property? After becoming the goal, he becomes the heir of the property. In the world, the simplest means is God.

The essence of attainment is that there is nothing to do, it is essential to set your goal. Bring firmness to it and develop faith and sentiment according to that goal. There is no simpler way in this world. People say that domestic life creates disturbances in attaining God, absolutely not. Some say that business disturbs, absolutely not. Some say that wealth obstructs the union with God, absolutely not. If you achieve wealth, call yourself wealthy, and become self-indulgent, it is only distress. And if you keep it for the sake of God, for the welfare of others, then my dear ones, it is pure welfare. Only two methods are needed: the method of keeping and the method of living, desire is not needed, no matter what kind of household. Did householders not attain God? King Janak was a householder, Pulast, Bhrigu, Vashishtha, Angira, and all the Saptarishis were householders. Our Lord Ram was a householder, our Lord Krishna was a householder, our Lord Narayan was a householder, our Guru Nanak Dev, Kabir, and all were householders. All our sages were householders because the living soul desires to meet the Supreme Soul. Where the soul and the Supreme Soul meet, that is also a type of household.

Summary

The discourse emphasizes the importance of recognizing the Supreme Being as one, transcending distinctions between deities like Ram, Krishna, Shiva, and Devi. Guruji explains that these distinctions are merely human constructs and that all forms and names ultimately lead to the same divine source, Narayana. He stresses that the confusion about which deity to worship is unnecessary, as the essence of all gods is one. The discourse further highlights the significance of setting a firm spiritual goal and the power of devotion, which should be selfless and free from worldly desires. By establishing a clear and unwavering spiritual goal, one can achieve peace, happiness, and ultimately, union with the divine.

Guruji also addresses the importance of understanding the different types of karma (actions) and how they shape one’s destiny. He explains that while worldly achievements and material wealth are transient, true fulfillment comes from setting a spiritual goal and remaining steadfast in it. The discourse encourages devotees to focus on their spiritual objectives, as wavering from the goal leads to suffering and unfulfilled desires.
