Every man has been sent to this earth with equal powers. It is their interests and childhood experiences that ignite their passion, channeling this power towards pursuing a goal or developing a talent. An individual could be an expert singer while another could be a great orator. Someone may be talkative while another may be a good actor. This is how the powers within us manifest themselves. A Guru awakens these hidden powers in us and purifies them, which eventually has positive effects on the devotee.

It is common to accept that everyone is different. But a Guru sees beyond such differences. A Guru, who is regarded as greater than Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Sustainer), and Mahesh (the Destroyer), accepts devotees who accept him. Once a Guru has accepted a devotee, the tedious task of grooming the devotee begins. A Guru is compared to a potter who works with clay to design pots of various shapes and sizes. When a Guru gets to work, he is like the potter who, with a careful measure of water and clay, begins his work to create the perfect pot.
